According to an update on Tesla's official website, the electric car manufacturer has decided to increase the price of its Model Y in the US market.
Specifically, Tesla has increased the prices of the two top-of-the-line Model Y all-wheel drive (AWD) and rear-wheel drive (RWD) versions by $1,000. After the adjustment, the new prices for these two models are $49,990 and $45,990, respectively.
Additionally, data from the company's website shows that the high-performance, all-wheel-drive Model Y Performance has been priced at $57,990 in the US market, an increase of $500 from the previous price.
Earlier last August, Tesla also attracted attention when it increased the price of its most expensive Cybertruck pickup truck by $15,000 in the US, despite sales not meeting expectations and the company facing vehicle recalls.
Tesla has not yet provided any reason for this price increase.
The last time this electric car manufacturer increased the price of the Model Y was two years ago, in 2024, with a uniform increase of $1,000 for all versions of the car.
