Thai Nguyen is ready to inaugurate the 2026 tourism season.

The opening ceremony of the 2026 Thai Nguyen tourism season, themed "Lake on the Mountain - Tea in the Clouds," will take place at 8 PM on May 15th at Vo Nguyen Giap Square, Phan Dinh Phung Ward. The program will be broadcast live on the TN channel of Thai Nguyen Newspaper and Radio & Television, as well as on several other provincial and city newspapers and radio/television stations; it will also be livestreamed on the Thai Nguyen Newspaper and Radio & Television Fanpage.

Ba Be Lake - A green gem amidst the mountains and forests of Northern Vietnam.

The program is expected to include various elements such as: screening of video clips introducing tourism in Thai Nguyen; an opening art performance; the opening ceremony of the Tourism Season; a special art program, high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks displays, and drone demonstrations.

Within the framework of the 2026 Thai Nguyen tourism season, the province will organize many activities, such as: a seminar associated with the "Breakfast with Businessmen" program at Dung Tan Tourist Area (Song Cong Ward) on May 9th; a jet ski demonstration at Nui Coc Lake Tourist Area (Dai Phuc Commune) on May 15th; an art program "Heritage Resounds Amidst the Vast Forests of Ba Be" on the evening of May 16th and the "Footprints on the Blue Lake" running race on May 17th at the Ba Be Lake National Special Scenic Area (Ba Be Commune); a National Circus Gala at the Provincial Gymnasium from May 16th to 17th; and the organization and awarding of prizes for the 2026 Thai Nguyen tourism promotion video clip competition with the theme "Journey to Discover Thai Nguyen".

Through this program, Thai Nguyen is promoting the province's tourism potential and strengths, attracting travel businesses and investors to develop tourism.

In 2026, Thai Nguyen aims to welcome approximately 8 million tourists, striving to achieve a total tourism revenue of 11,000 billion VND. In the first quarter of 2026, the province welcomed over 2.6 million tourists. This result demonstrates the initial effectiveness of expanding and more clearly defined tourism development opportunities in the province.

To ensure the successful organization of the event, the Thai Nguyen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism developed a detailed plan, clearly assigning tasks to each unit, from organization, logistics, and communication to ensuring security, safety, environmental hygiene, and service quality. Local authorities also proactively prepared infrastructure, beautified the landscape, and raised awareness of civilized and friendly tourism service.

The organization of the opening ceremony for the 2026 tourism season demonstrates Thai Nguyen's determination to effectively exploit its tourism potential. This will contribute to diversifying tourism products, enhancing competitiveness, and gradually making tourism a key economic sector of the province.
