As soon as the match ended, PSSI's social media pages were flooded with criticism from Indonesian fans. Most of them were aimed at coach Patrick Kluivert, claiming that the Dutch coach was "not qualified" to lead the Indonesian team.

Account @sslryd77 commented quite harshly: "Are you open-minded now, PSSI? Patrick Kluivert is not capable of leading the Indonesian team. Fire him immediately and bring back coach Shin Tae Yong."

Account @mauzanaf joked: "We waited for Patrick Kluivert for 4 months, it was not in vain... A deserved defeat. Maybe Patrick Kluivert will become the fastest coach to be fired after only... 2 matches".

Supporter Ahmad wrote: "Since PSSI decided to fire coach Shin Tae Yong, we knew this would happen. This loss is just the beginning. If Patrick Kluivert is still the coach, Indonesia will continue to suffer from the opponent's rain of goals."

However, besides the criticism, there are also opinions defending coach Patrick Kluivert, saying that his time in charge was too short, and especially that the Australian team is at a higher level than Indonesia.

After the loss to Australia, Indonesia temporarily ranked fourth in Group C with 6 points. In the next match on March 25, Indonesia will host Bahrain at home at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
