In the border region of Huong Xuan commune, where fog blankets the paths, Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Hoai (born in 1987), the head teacher of the Youth Union at Huong Xuan Primary School, still regularly goes to class every day, imparting knowledge to her students. Having dedicated over 16 years to the profession, she has never once considered leaving the classroom, despite the challenging and arduous working conditions…

After graduating from the Music Education Department of Ha Tinh Teacher Training College (now Ha Tinh University), Ms. Hoai returned to her hometown and took a job at Binh Ha Primary School (Ha Linh commune), then transferred to Huong Lam Primary School (formerly Huong Lam commune), and is now working at Huong Xuan Primary School. These are all schools in remote, border areas of Ha Tinh province, facing many difficulties.
Ms. Hoai shared: “When I first came to the school, I was quite surprised by the muddy roads and the many hardships the students faced. On some days, when it rained heavily and the water flooded the school, it was very difficult for me and the students to get to class. But then, seeing the eager eyes and hearing the polite greetings of the students, I felt truly fortunate to be doing this job. Every time I hear them sing or confidently participate in extracurricular activities, I feel the joy and true meaning of teaching.”

Having dedicated sixteen years to teaching in the remote mountainous region, teacher Dinh Thi Thu Hoai has become a familiar part of this land. Despite being far from the city center and having a modest income, she always considers "sowing" knowledge for children in disadvantaged areas as her greatest happiness.
Ms. Hoai shared: “As the head teacher in charge of the Youth Union and music teacher, I always try to innovate my teaching methods, organize many experiential activities, arts and culture events, and life skills training so that the children can have more fun and be more confident. In border areas, learning conditions and access to culture and art are limited, so I want my students to feel the sharing, warmth, and gain more faith in life through each lesson and each Youth Union activity.”
Throughout her teaching career, Ms. Hoai has received numerous awards and certificates from various levels of authority. However, for her, the greatest reward remains the eager eyes and innocent smiles of her students whenever they come to class. She always believes that teaching is not just about imparting knowledge, but also about instilling in children faith, love of life, and a desire to strive for success.
Despite facing numerous challenges, Ms. Hoai remains dedicated to her profession, pouring her heart and soul into providing her students with inspiring lessons. In the misty border region, the image of this young teacher devoted to her students has become a warm beacon, a testament to the resilience, love of her profession, and compassionate heart of a woman from Ha Tinh.

Amidst the journey of striving for self-improvement among women, Ms. Le Thi Kim Luong (born in 1974) - Secretary of the Party Branch of Vinh Hoi village, Mai Hoa commune - is a prime example. Through perseverance and creativity, she has fostered a spirit of solidarity, helping women and villagers develop their economy and stabilize their lives.
In 2004, when she first took on the role of Head of the Women's Association in the village, Ms. Luong faced many difficulties. Most women in the village were farmers, leading hard lives with limited opportunities to participate in collective activities. "I thought that for the movement to be strong, first and foremost, the association's activities had to be linked to the practical interests of its members. We had to make sure that each woman felt that when she came to the association, she could share and help each other progress," Ms. Luong recalled.
Based on that idea, she boldly initiated many practical models such as "Women's Business Groups" and "Local Savings Groups" to raise funds to help each other in business. Although the funds were small, they served as a "fishing rod" helping many women invest in livestock farming and small-scale trading, gradually stabilizing their lives. In addition, she also implemented the "Green House" model, encouraging people to collect waste and scrap materials in designated areas, both protecting the environment and raising funds to support single mothers and near-poor households.
Ms. Luong shared: "Sometimes, just a few bags of recyclable waste, collected over time, can amount to millions of dong. With that money, we can buy piglets and feed to support women in need. It's a small amount, but it's very meaningful."

Her innovative and persistent efforts have helped the women's movement in Vinh Hoi village flourish. The models of the women's association have become shining examples, being replicated in many other villages.
Not only is she an inspiration to the women, Ms. Luong is also an exemplary Party Branch Secretary, practicing what she preaches and always being attentive and close to the people. In 2023, with the trust of the Party members, she was elected to the position of Party Branch Secretary of the village. In her new role, she has made even greater efforts in mobilizing the people to develop the economy, beautify the residential area, build a cultural life, and contribute to helping Vinh Hoi village soon complete the criteria for advanced new rural development.
Thanks to her sense of responsibility, enthusiasm, and creativity, Ms. Le Thi Kim Luong has been commended and rewarded by authorities at all levels for many years, serving as an exemplary woman in Mai Hoa mountainous commune. In 2019, Vinh Hoi village achieved the status of a model residential area, and the lives of its people have been steadily improving…

It can be said that throughout the countryside of Ha Tinh, there are countless other women who are quietly "spreading their fragrance" every day. These include diligent female factory workers, dedicated doctors and nurses caring for the sick, and rural women silently nurturing and preserving the way of life, fostering community spirit... Regardless of their role, they are all "beautiful flowers" contributing to the warm and compassionate image of their homeland, Ha Tinh.
They don't choose fanfare, nor do they seek glory; they simply contribute silently, their efforts and hearts making life more beautiful. Like flowers growing amidst rocks, the harsher the conditions, the more fragrant they become—the fragrance of kindness, perseverance, and faith in goodness. It is from these simple people that the countryside of Ha Tinh today is warmer, full of affection, and daily life becomes gentler because even amidst hardship, there are always flowers silently blooming, making the land more beautiful and life greener.
