Vietnamese wrestlers (above) overwhelmingly defeated their opponents.

The “opener” for the “golden rain” of Vietnamese wrestling this afternoon was Dang Thi Linh, who in the final match of the women’s 76kg weight class, defeated her opponent from Indonesia to win the gold medal. Nguyen Thi Linh’s gold medal has given her teammates more motivation to continuously “harvest gold” in the following finals.

In the final match of the women's 68kg weight class, Lai Dieu Thuong easily defeated her Lao opponent to take home the second gold medal. Then, Nguyen Thi Xuan defeated her Philippine opponent in the final match of the women's 50kg weight class, taking home the third gold medal. Next, Nguyen Thi My Trang won the gold medal in the women's 57kg weight class when she defeated her Cambodian opponent in the final match. Similarly, Nguyen Thi My Hanh won another gold medal in the women's 62kg weight class after defeating both Indonesian opponents. Finally, Tran Anh Tuyet knocked out a Thai wrestler in the final match to win the gold medal in the women's 59kg weight class.

Vietnamese wrestling is competing successfully at SEA Games 32

With absolute strength, Vietnamese wrestlers won 6 gold medals in 6 final events. Before that, Vietnamese wrestlers also had a successful opening day when they won 3 gold medals, respectively thanks to Bui Tien Hai (60kg men), Nguyen Cong Manh (72kg men) and Nguyen Dinh Huy (55kg men).

Thus, after 2 days of competition, Vietnamese wrestlers have won a total of 9 gold medals. They will continue to improve their achievements with the weight categories participating in the final competition day on May 16.
