Today (October 26th) saw two matches in Round 5 of the V-League 2024-2025: HAGL FC vs. Thanh Hoa FC and Ho Chi Minh City FC vs. Quang Nam FC, both ending in draws.
HAGL FC suffered a disappointing defeat against Thanh Hoa FC.
At Pleiku Stadium, HAGL FC, considered the weaker team compared to Thanh Hoa FC, played impressively and took the lead. It seemed as though the three points and the top spot in the league table were secured, but they allowed their opponents to equalize 1-1 in injury time. This valuable point earned at Pleiku Stadium gives Thanh Hoa FC 10 points, level with The Cong Viettel FC, but ahead of them due to a better goal difference (5 compared to 2). Meanwhile, HAGL FC has 9 points, placing them in third position.
Thanh Hoa FC (in white shirts) maintained their top spot in the league standings after a last-minute draw against HAGL.
At Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City FC drew with Quang Nam FC in a rather dull match with no goals scored. This result leaves Ho Chi Minh City FC and Quang Nam FC tied in the lower half of the table with 5 points each.

Tomorrow (October 27th) will see the next three matches of Round 5 of the V-League 2024-2025: Binh Dinh FC vs. SLNA FC, Da Nang FC vs. Hai Phong FC, and Hanoi FC vs. Ha Tinh FC. The match between Hanoi FC (7 points) and Ha Tinh FC (8 points) is the most anticipated because a win for Ha Tinh would see them take sole possession of the top spot in the standings. Meanwhile, a win for Hanoi FC would put them level on points with the two teams currently sharing the top spot in the V-League standings: Thanh Hoa and The Cong Viettel.
