Establishment of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee after the merger with Dong Son district.

(NLĐO) - The Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee, following the merger of Dong Son district, has 14 members, with Mr. Le Anh Xuan appointed as the Secretary of Thanh Hoa City.

On the morning of January 1st, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Standing Committee's decision on the establishment of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee and decisions on personnel matters. At the conference, the leaders of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department announced the decision to establish the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee by merging the Dong Son District Party Committee into the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee.

Accordingly, the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee has 142 affiliated grassroots party organizations with 31,100 party members. The following advisory and support agencies of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee have been established: the City Party Committee Office, the City Party Committee Organization Department; the City Party Committee Inspection Committee, the City Party Committee Propaganda Department, and the City Party Committee Mass Mobilization Department.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee announced the following decisions: the appointment of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 62 members; the appointment of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee Standing Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 14 members; the appointment of Mr. Le Anh Xuan, a member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, as Secretary of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; and the appointment of Mr. Le Trong Thu, Mr. Le Anh Tuan, and Mr. Le Thanh Hai as Deputy Secretaries of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

In his directive speech, Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Doan Anh affirmed that the reorganization of district and commune-level administrative units is a major policy of the Party and State aimed at streamlining the organizational structure for efficient and effective operation; while simultaneously expanding development space and maximizing the potential and advantages of localities.

To meet the leadership and guidance requirements in the new development phase, Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Doan Anh requested that Party committees, government agencies, the Fatherland Front, and political and social organizations, especially the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the City Party Committee, continue and further promote the tradition of unity, solidarity, innovation, dynamism, and creativity, striving to overcome difficulties and making efforts to successfully complete the political tasks of the City Party Committee.

In particular, the Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee directed the focus on leading, guiding, and successfully organizing the first session of the Thanh Hoa City People's Council to consolidate the new government apparatus, ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations, and effectively implementing the reorganization of the organizational structure and downsizing of personnel according to the direction of the Central Government and the province. On behalf of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee, Secretary of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee Le Anh Xuan stated that the focus will be on leading and directing the rapid consolidation, stabilization, and effective operation of the city's political system to ensure smooth, effective, and efficient functioning. At the same time, the city will decisively and effectively implement goals, tasks, and solutions with the highest determination, creating new momentum and enthusiasm to promote the city's development, striving to strongly advance in the new development phase, building the city by 2030 into a smart, civilized, modern, and livable city, contributing to the province and the country entering a new era – the era of national progress.

Thanh Hoa province now has 26 districts, towns, and cities after the merger.

Thus, after merging Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa city, the number of district-level administrative units in the locality has decreased by one, from 27 to 26. This includes 2 cities: Thanh Hoa City and Sam Son City; 2 towns: Bim Son and Nghi Son; and 22 districts: Hoang Hoa, Quang Xuong, Hau Loc, Nga Son, Thieu Hoa, Thach Thanh, Yen Dinh, Vinh Loc, Ha Trung, Trieu Son, Nong Cong, Nhu Thanh, Nhu Xuan, Thuong Xuan, Tho Xuan, Ngoc Lac, Ba Thuoc, Lang Chanh, Cam Thuy, Quan Son, Quan Hoa, and Muong Lat.
