Establishment of the Northern Military Cadet School

The Northern Military Cadet School will teach students according to the general education curriculum, while also integrating national defense and security education, physical training, life skills, and a sense of discipline and organization.

On March 27th, the Command of Military Region 1 ( Ministry of National Defense ) held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish the Northern Military Cadet School, directly under Military Region 1. This decision by the Minister of National Defense aims to concretize the strategy of building high-quality human resources for the Vietnam People's Army, meeting the requirements of national defense in the new situation.

Lieutenant General Le Van Huong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, presented the Victory Banner to the Northern Military Cadet School.

At the ceremony, Lieutenant General Le Van Huong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, gave directives stating that the school would carry out its mission of comprehensive education, closely combining cultural teaching with training in discipline and military conduct; thereby contributing to the formation of political fortitude, revolutionary ideals, and a sense of responsibility for the younger generation.

As requested by the Ministry of National Defense, the Northern Military Cadet School will teach students according to the general education curriculum, while simultaneously integrating national defense and security education, physical training, life skills, and organizational discipline. The school will build a formal and orderly learning and living environment, suitable for the specific training characteristics of the military, so that students can develop comprehensively in terms of intellect, physical fitness, and morality.

In the coming period, Military Region 1 will focus on directing relevant agencies and units to urgently consolidate organizational structure and personnel, build a team of qualified and ethical management staff and teachers; and at the same time invest in and improve facilities and teaching equipment, ensuring the best conditions for the school to operate effectively as soon as possible.

According to the plan, the construction site for the Northern Cadet School will be in Linh Son ward, Thai Nguyen province. In addition to the Northern Cadet School, the Ministry of National Defense has also decided to establish a Cadet School in Central Vietnam (under Military Region 5), and plans to establish a Cadet School in Southern Vietnam (under Military Region 7). All three cadet schools will begin operations in the 2026-2027 academic year.
