On May 6th, the People's Procuracy of Region 1 announced that, based on information reported in the media regarding the illegal occupation of approximately 8,000 square meters of land on Ho Dac Di Street, An Cuu Ward, Hue City, by the City's Land Fund Development Center, for the purpose of stockpiling sand, gravel, and stones, the People's Procuracy of Region 1 determined that there was a violation causing damage to public interests in the field of land as stipulated in Resolution No. 205/2025/QH15, and therefore proceeded to verify the information.
The task force quickly arrived and worked with representatives from the An Cuu Ward People's Committee and the City's Land Development Center to determine the illegal occupation of public land. At the time of inspection, the land contained two makeshift shelters made of corrugated iron, a pile of gravel covered with tarpaulin (approximately 30 cubic meters), and scattered sand and stones on an area of about 8,000 square meters.
The task force requested the An Cuu Ward People's Committee to contact the violating enterprise, 686 Construction and Service Company Limited, for a meeting; and to inspect and assess the site with the participation of relevant parties. To take measures to stop the land encroachment and stockpiling of sand and gravel, and to contribute to protecting the public interest of the State, at the meeting, representatives from the People's Procuracy of Region 1 requested the An Cuu Ward People's Committee and the City Land Fund Development Center to urge 686 Construction and Service Company Limited to address the violations. Accordingly, representatives from the An Cuu Ward People's Committee and the Land Fund Development Center requested 686 Construction and Service Company Limited to immediately dismantle the two corrugated iron structures to restore the land to its original state for the State.
As reported by Hue Today Newspaper , numerous illegal sand stockpiling sites have sprung up and are operating brazenly next to residential areas in An Cuu, Thanh Thuy, and Thuy Xuan wards, with trucks constantly transporting sand in and out. Notably, these sites have existed for many years without being definitively dealt with. Following the report, the People's Committee of An Cuu ward conducted an inspection of the illegal sand stockpiling site in the Ho Dac Di planning area. During a meeting with relevant parties, the People's Committee requested the 686 Construction and Service Company Limited to remove all the sand and gravel and cease stockpiling, and to return the land within 5 days. Simultaneously, surveillance cameras were installed on the land to monitor, inspect, and address this illegal sand and gravel stockpiling site.
