Iran rejects reports that President Pezeshkian has resigned.

- On June 1st, the Iranian government denied reports that President Masoud Pezeshkian had submitted his resignation to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei due to disagreements over governance and the distribution of power within the leadership.

Previously, according to the opposition media outlet Iran International, President Pezeshkian was no longer fully involved in important decision-making, and power was increasingly concentrated in the military and security agencies, particularly the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

However, the Tasnim news agency quoted an unnamed official as asserting that the information was completely false. President Pezeshkian is still working normally and his work programs are proceeding as planned.

Iranian President's advisor, Mehdi Tabatabai, also asserted that these were merely rumors spread by foreign media outlets to sow discord within Iran.
