These days, at training grounds, gymnasiums, and shooting ranges, the atmosphere of preparation for the 2026 Military , Martial Arts, and Police Sports Games of Hue City Police officers and soldiers is vibrant and urgent. The football, martial arts, and shooting teams maintain high training intensity, focusing on improving physical fitness, technique, and competitive spirit with the determination to achieve the best possible results.
This year, the sports competition includes many new, practical events such as obstacle courses and stick fighting, aiming to closely align with the operational and combat requirements of the police force. This is not only a platform for physical training but also helps officers and soldiers improve their coordination skills and ability to handle real-life situations.
Captain Ho Trong Hien, an athlete from the Hue City Police Martial Arts Team, shared: "Stick fighting is a new discipline, so the athletes are practicing, researching techniques, and receiving additional guidance during training. Team members always support each other to improve their skills, maximize their potential, and aim for the best possible results at the competition, while also showcasing the martial arts spirit and the colors of the Hue City Police."
Alongside training, the Hue City Police are urgently completing preparations for the sports competition. Competition venues are being inspected and upgraded according to professional requirements. At the shooting range, the target system and technical equipment have been installed and thoroughly checked to ensure the best possible service for the competition, ready for the major event of the People's Police force.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Duc, Deputy Head of the Party and Political Affairs Department of the Hue City Police, informed: "To date, we have coordinated with functional units and the Political Affairs Department to survey the venues for the competitions, performances, and opening ceremony. Preparations are being carried out meticulously, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Ministry of Public Security leadership."

Up to this point, preparations have been urgently carried out by the City Police in coordination with local departments and agencies to ensure the event takes place safely, meticulously, and successfully as planned.
The highlight of this year's sports festival is the opening ceremony, which for the first time was held at night in Ngo Mon Square and was broadcast live on Hue Newspaper and Radio & Television channels, as well as many other mass media platforms.
Speaking at the meeting to implement the plan for coordinating the organization of the sports event, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Standing Committee member of the Hue City Party Committee and Director of the Hue City Police, requested that all units continue to uphold their sense of responsibility, proactively coordinate closely, and synchronously implement tasks according to the plan of the Hue City People's Committee. The goal is to ensure that the sports event takes place safely, on schedule, and with the highest quality.
The City Police Chief instructed units to focus on reviewing facilities, logistics, medical services, communication, reception, and ceremonial arrangements. Simultaneously, they were tasked with developing plans to ensure security, traffic safety, and fire prevention and control at competition venues, opening and closing ceremonies, and accommodation for participating delegations. Units also needed to proactively prepare contingency plans, especially in complex weather conditions, to ensure the sports event ran smoothly and continuously.
Besides organizational matters, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan requested increased inspection and monitoring of implementation progress, promptly resolving difficulties during the deployment process. At the same time, he called for intensified publicity before, during, and after the sports event through various appropriate forms; focusing on spreading the meaning and purpose of the event, the spirit of solidarity and fair play of the participating teams, and the positive images of the People's Police force and Hue City.
“With thorough preparation and a high sense of responsibility from the units, I am confident that the 2026 People's Police Military, Martial Arts and Sports Games - Region II, group stage in Hue City will be successfully organized, leaving a positive impression and contributing to affirming the capacity and prestige of Hue City Police in hosting major events of the Ministry of Public Security,” Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan affirmed.
| The sports festival will be inaugurated on the evening of June 6, 2026, at Ngo Mon Square, with the participation of 34 teams, nearly 3,000 athletes, and officers and soldiers from professional departments, commands under the Ministry of Public Security, People's Public Security schools, and police units and localities in the region. This is the third time Hue City has been entrusted with hosting the sports festival. |
