'Igniting' the Youth Union movement from the grassroots level.

The Youth Union leader is enthusiastic and responsible.

For over 10 years, Ho Tuan An, Acting Secretary of the Youth Union of Tan Binh commune (Tan Tru district, Long An province), has consistently demonstrated the role of an exemplary, energetic, enthusiastic, and responsible leader . In his position, he has "ignited" the youth movement in the locality, making it increasingly strong.

In 2014, Mr. An began working at the People's Committee of My Binh commune, Tan Tru district (now Tan Binh commune) as the Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune. Later, he was elected as the Deputy Secretary of the My Binh Commune Youth Union (in 2015). Due to his effective work, he has always been trusted by the Youth Union members and his superiors.

After four years, he was elected Secretary of the Youth Union of My Binh commune. In 2020, after My Binh commune and An Nhut Tan commune merged to form Tan Binh commune, Mr. An was assigned to be Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Tan Binh commune, and he is currently the Acting Secretary of the Youth Union of Tan Binh commune.

With the enthusiasm of youth, An always proactively and actively works with the Executive Committee of the Commune Youth Union to closely follow the resolutions, programs, and plans of the higher-level Youth Union and the Party Committee to develop plans and programs for Youth Union activities and youth movements that are relevant to the local context and meet the legitimate needs and aspirations of Youth Union members.

This includes focusing on strongly developing volunteer activities within the Youth Union such as "Volunteering for Community Life"; launching "Green Sunday" and "Volunteer Saturday" campaigns; building models such as "Bright, Green, and Clean Roads" and "Roads with National Flags," etc.

The activities organized by the Tan Binh Commune Youth Union have been highly effective, making a significant contribution to uniting and gathering young people, harnessing their youthful energy, and working together to build a new rural area and promote the socio-economic development of the commune.

As a local Youth Union leader, he consistently sets a good example by taking the lead in various movements and activities, actively promoting volunteer activities within the Youth Union; regularly organizing cultural and sports exchanges; and advising the local Party committee and government on implementing policies for young people. He actively encourages young people to boldly start businesses and develop effective economic models such as goat farming and grape cultivation. In addition, he also guides and coordinates with local job placement centers for young people.

Sharing about the difficulties in organizing and implementing Youth Union activities in the locality, Mr. An said that Tan Binh commune currently has 11 branches with 74 Youth Union members. The majority of Youth Union members work in companies and factories, only having Sundays off, making it very difficult to attract and gather them to participate in Youth Union activities.

Being the Youth Union leader of the commune is a significant challenge for Mr. An, but with the enthusiasm and responsibility of a Youth Union official, he always sets a good example, takes the lead in movements and activities, and has many effective initiatives and solutions to help "ignite" the enthusiasm of the younger generation; gathering a large number of young people.

In organizing movements, An is enthusiastic, proactive, creative, and has successfully mobilized a large number of Youth Union members to participate in youth projects, bringing practical benefits to the locality.”

With outstanding achievements in youth union work, Mr. Ho Tuan An has been honored for many consecutive years with certificates of merit and commendations from the Provincial Youth Union and the Tan Tru District Youth Union for his excellent performance in youth union work and youth movements in the locality.

"A great friend" for students

In 2012, Mr. Tran Van Thong was assigned to work at Thanh Hoa High School (Thanh Hoa town, Thanh Hoa district) and taught Physical Education and National Defense and Security. For over 13 years, he has dedicated himself to the cause of "nurturing future generations," participating in Youth Union activities at his school. Regardless of his position, he has always performed his assigned duties well with dedication and enthusiasm.

After more than three years working at the school, Mr. Thong was elected Secretary of the School Youth Union and gradually became a "great friend" to many generations of students. Since taking on the role, he and the School Youth Union Executive Committee have closely followed the directives of the Provincial Youth Union, the District Youth Union, and the school's Board of Directors to organize many vibrant movements and activities that attract the participation of Youth Union members and students. Through these activities, the students have fun, receive life skills education, and learn and follow the thoughts, morals, and style of Ho Chi Minh.

Anh Thông shared: “Following Uncle Ho's teaching, 'Wherever there is a need, the Youth Union will be there; whatever is difficult, the Youth Union will overcome it,' I always try to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the Youth Union members and students, and to be a role model and pioneer in the school's Youth Union movements.”

Every year, the Youth Union's activities are organized with rich content and constantly innovated formats, leaving deep impressions and emotions on students. Through these activities, they contribute to the education of character and physical development, creating a healthy and beneficial playground for the children.

With his achievements in professional activities and Youth Union work, Thong has consistently excelled in his duties for many years, earning the title of "Outstanding Emulation Soldier" at the grassroots level six times and receiving numerous commendations and certificates of merit from the Provincial Youth Union, District Youth Union, and the school's Board of Directors.

Ho Tuan An and Tran Van Thong are two of hundreds of Youth Union leaders who have been doing a great job of "igniting" the Youth Union movement at the grassroots level. They not only fulfill their roles and responsibilities but also contribute to spreading positive values, inspiring the younger generation in their localities, and driving the Youth Union movement to further development.
