This is the first time the largest specialized school in Da Nang has been invested in a synchronous upgrade, both in terms of funding and investment scale, after 22 years since its inauguration and operation.

Double joy

Talking to a reporter from Nhan Dan Newspaper about the Da Nang City's traditional specialized school, which has just been approved by the Da Nang City leaders for investment in upgrading and expanding, teacher Le Thanh Hai, the school's principal, could not hide his emotion: Le Quy Don Da Nang High School for the Gifted was newly invested in and put into operation in September 2003, and has been in operation for 22 years. Many items have been damaged and degraded, requiring a huge amount of money, tens of billions of VND, for upgrading and repairing.

Recently, the city has handed over the first phase of the project with a total cost of 14 billion VND, with a row of 8 new, spacious classrooms. These are the classrooms that the school will use to arrange for students to study instead of the degraded, unsafe classrooms.

Currently, the relevant units are completing the construction bidding procedures according to regulations and the project will soon be implemented. For teachers and students of the school, this is a great joy and motivation, especially in this new school year.

Together with reporters, recording the reality in the degraded classrooms and the peeling and cracked corridors, Mr. Le Thanh Hai said that to ensure the students and teachers in studying and teaching, the school has not used the degraded classrooms and has moved to the newly built area. Currently, the degraded and damaged locations have been measured, counted, and numbered in the project file.
