An additional 55 trillion VND will be spent on the new basic salary level.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The National Assembly has agreed to supplement the 2024 state budget expenditure estimates for ministries, central agencies, and localities to implement the basic salary level.

On the afternoon of November 30th, with 464 out of 464 delegates voting in favor, the National Assembly passed the resolution of the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.

Earlier, the Secretary General and Head of the National Assembly Office, Le Quang Tung, presented the draft resolution.

Accordingly, the National Assembly agreed to supplement the 2024 state budget expenditure estimates for ministries, central agencies, and localities to implement the basic salary level as stipulated in Government Decree 73/2024.

Specifically, an additional 55,000 billion VND from the central government's accumulated salary reform funds will be added to the 2024 state budget revenue forecast, and a corresponding amount will be added to the 2024 state budget expenditure forecast.

This includes supplementing the budget for salary reform for the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security , as per Government Proposal No. 54.

The remaining amount within the 55,000 billion VND budget after supplementing the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, and 2,980 billion VND from the state budget balance was decided by the National Assembly in Resolution 105/2023.

The National Assembly also assigned the Government to decide on supplementing the budget for salary reform in 2024 for ministries, central agencies, and localities as per Government Proposal No. 54. The Government is urged to promptly allocate this expenditure to ministries, sectors, and localities, ensuring timeliness.

The government is responsible for ensuring that the content of the proposals complies with legal regulations, the accuracy of the information and data reported, the necessity, completeness, reasonableness, and compliance with standards, norms, and expenditure regulations.

At the same time, the National Assembly requested that the implementation be carried out urgently, ensuring that the state budget is used for the intended purpose and effectively.
