More universities 'turn around', resume admission to block C00

On the evening of June 7, Mr. Do Ngoc Anh, Director of the Center for Communication and Admissions, Hanoi Open University, said that the school decided to add the C00 group to the admission of 3 majors: Law, Economic Law and International Law.

Thus, the school will consider admission in 5 groups including: D01 (Math, Literature, English), C01 (Math, Literature, Physics), C03 (Math, Literature, History), C14 (Math, Literature, Economic and LegalEducation ), C00 (Literature, History, Geography)

According to Mr. Ngoc Anh, using the existing admission combinations with 2 basic subjects: Math and Literature and adding combination C00 will create opportunities for many candidates to be admitted to the school.

Previously, many students and experts reacted to the fact that universities suddenly "eliminated" the C00 block in university admissions. Most notably, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) announced that it would not recruit the C00 block close to the 2025 high school graduation exam date, causing many mixed opinions and confusion among students.

The Ministry of Education and Training requires schools to urgently adjust the admission combinations, ensuring the rights of candidates and not causing psychological turmoil before the high school graduation exam. "Although schools are autonomous and responsible for admission, they must be reasonable and ensure the best interests of students," said a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training.

This morning, after being "whistled", the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) decided to re-admit the C00 group. At the same time, it opened the C03 group (Math, Literature, History) and C04 group (Math, Literature, Geography) for all 28 training majors of the school.

Thus, up to now, 2/5 universities have "turned around" following the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training. Currently, the University of Law (Hanoi National University), Hanoi Capital University, and the Academy of Journalism and Communication have not made any moves to adjust the enrollment of the C00 group back.

This year, Hanoi Open University plans to enroll 4,140 students in 21 majors with a variety of admission methods including:
Direct admission;
Consider academic records (for Biotechnology and Food Technology);
Consider transcripts or high school graduation exam scores combined with aptitude test scores (for Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design and Architecture);
Consider the results of the HAS competency assessment test, TSA thinking assessment; consider the 2025 high school graduation exam scores.
Hanoi Open University does not use the results of the foreign language exam exemption in the high school graduation exam for admission; the school converts foreign language scores for candidates with international foreign language certificates valid as of August 14.
