Due to her advanced age and frail health, Mrs. Luong Thi Hai (91 years old, Yet Kieu Ward, Ha Dong District, Hanoi) received her pension payment right at home, without having to go to payment points. According to Mrs. Hai, she worked at the Agricultural Machinery Factory and retired in April 1984 with a social insurance benefit of 290 dong at that time. To date, after several adjustments by the State, Mrs. Hai's benefit is 4,813,100 dong, an increase of 627,800 dong compared to the June 2024 salary (4,185,300 dong).

In addition to her pension, Mrs. Hai also receives a free health insurance card. Thanks to this, when she is sick, she receives support in paying a portion of her medical expenses. Being financially independent, she can enjoy her old age with peace of mind.

In July 2018, Ms. Le Thi Chi (61 years old, Kien Hung Ward, Ha Dong District, Hanoi City) became eligible for a pension. Prior to this, after participating in mandatory social insurance, she continued to participate in voluntary social insurance for 5 years and 4 months (paying a lump sum for the remaining years) to meet the eligibility requirements for a pension.

On the afternoon of July 1st, Ms. Le Thi Chi (61 years old, Kien Hung ward, Ha Dong district, Hanoi) received her pension via ATM account with the amount of 2,344,400 VND.

In the early afternoon of July 1st, Ms. Chi received her pension via ATM account, amounting to 2,344,400 VND (an increase of 305,800 VND compared to her June 2024 pension). According to Ms. Chi, receiving her pension through her account is both safe and fast, saving her time from having to go to payment points.

Mr. Nguyen Huu (Ha Dong, Hanoi) also received his pension early in the afternoon of July 1st.

According to Vietnam Social Security, as of 2 PM on July 1st, the entire Social Security sector had paid monthly pensions and social insurance benefits at the new rates to over 60% of the total number of beneficiaries. Those who registered to receive benefits via personal accounts have already received payments at the new rates; elderly and infirm individuals who are unable to travel have had their payments delivered directly to their homes by the Social Security agency. Vietnam Social Security is currently continuing to pay the remaining cases.

On June 29, 2024, the National Assembly passed Resolution No. 7 of the 15th National Assembly. According to the Resolution, from July 1, 2024, pensions, social insurance benefits, and monthly allowances will be increased by 15% compared to the June 2024 levels. The scope of application is broad, including those receiving pensions from compulsory social insurance (state and private sectors) and those participating in voluntary social insurance. Furthermore, for those receiving pensions before 1995, after the adjustment, if their benefit is less than 3.2 million VND/month, it will be increased by 0.3 million VND/month; if their benefit is between 3.2 million VND/month and less than 3.5 million VND/month, it will be adjusted to 3.5 million VND/month.
