Another Miss Grand beauty gives up her title, accusing of being looked down upon

(Dan Tri) - After beauty Rachel Gupta gave up the Miss Grand International 2024 crown, accusing the organization of disrespecting the beauties, the 3rd runner-up of the Miss Grand International 2024 pageant, Safiétou Kabengele, also returned the title.

She said she wanted to give up the title so she could be “free to speak, walk and lead in my own way.” She added: “I will always stand for women’s rights and stay away from any form of humiliation towards them. I am a voice. I am an influence. I am a legacy. See you soon on a new path.”

Safiétou Kabengele also posted a screenshot of an email she sent to President Nawat of the Miss Grand organization. She told the President that she had been the target of attacks and insults. She felt that she had never received protection and support from the Miss Grand organization.

Beauty queen Safiétou Kabengele also mentioned that President Nawat insulted her during a livestream. After the incident, she asked to speak to Mr. Nawat but was refused by Mr. Nawat and Ms. Teresa (Vice President of the Miss Grand Organization). They even unfollowed her on Instagram.

In a letter to Mr. Nawat, Safiétou Kabengele asked his side to make an official announcement within 72 hours. Otherwise, Safiétou Kabengele would withdraw and return the title. The beauty sent the letter to Mr. Nawat on June 2.

After 3 days of waiting and no response, she sent another letter to President Nawat but was still ignored. Therefore, she officially withdrew from the title of 3rd Runner-up of Miss Grand International 2024.

“This is the result of months of observation, silence, and missed opportunities for dialogue,” she wrote in the letter. “Throughout my tenure, I have acted with integrity, loyalty, and discretion, even when my name and image were disrespected. I have chosen to remain silent not out of weakness, but out of respect for this institution and title that represents millions of young women around the world .”

Safiétou Kabengele beat out 16 other beauties to win the Miss Grand France 2024 pageant and represent France at the Miss Grand France 2024 pageant. At the Miss Grand France 2024 finals last October, she was awarded the title of 3rd runner-up.

Safiétou Kabengele is the third beauty of the Miss Grand 2024 pageant to renounce her title and post an article denouncing the Miss Grand organization.
