EU-GMP certification - a rigorous benchmark in the international pharmaceutical industry.
In the pharmaceutical industry, quality is non-negotiable and must always be ensured to the highest standard. Therefore, the European Union has introduced the EU-GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standard – a rigorous set of regulations to monitor the entire drug manufacturing process: from personnel, facilities, equipment, hygiene to product quality.
To obtain this certification, each factory must undergo rigorous on-site audits by international experts, including verification of records, operating procedures, and testing capabilities. EU-GMP serves as an affirmation of credibility, guaranteeing high-quality products worldwide , regardless of whether the medicine is domestically produced or imported.
In the context of the persistent problem of counterfeit and substandard drugs, EU-GMP certification acts as a "filter" to protect consumers and strengthen trust in legitimate pharmaceutical companies.
UIP and EU-GMP certification by 2025 Milestones in the development journey
United International Pharma (UIP) is a member of the Unilab Group, one of the leading names in the healthcare sector in Southeast Asia. The group currently operates in 10 countries in the region, owning 12 state-of-the-art factories and over 350 pharmaceutical brands trusted by millions of consumers.

With the motto "United for health, Working together for life," UIP began its journey in Vietnam over 30 years ago and has continuously innovated its technology and developed new products to improve the quality of treatment for the community. In the last two years, the group has invested heavily in improving processes, modernizing technology, and training personnel, aiming to meet the most stringent requirements from Europe.
As a result, the beginning of 2025 marked a proud milestone for the company: the UIP factory located in VSIP 2 Industrial Park, Binh Duong, was awarded EU-GMP certification, in addition to existing certifications such as WHO-GMP-GLP-GSP, ISO, and OHSAS.
According to statistics, among pharmaceutical factories in Vietnam that have achieved GMP standards, less than 10% have gone on to meet the stringent requirements to obtain EU-GMP certification. UIP's inclusion in this small group not only affirms its ability to produce according to international standards but also opens up opportunities for Vietnamese-made pharmaceuticals to expand and establish their position in the regional market.

Currently, only over 20 factories in Vietnam have achieved this stringent certification (Photo: UIP).
EU-GMP certification at UIP applies to many familiar consumer products such as Decolgen, Alaxan, Kremil-S, Enervon, and Obimin. These are all products that have been on the market for many years, and now they are further certified by international standards, contributing to increased consumer confidence.
In the context of widespread counterfeit and substandard drugs causing consumer anxiety, the EU-GMP certification of a domestic factory is a testament to UIP's commitment to providing reliable, high-quality pharmaceutical products that are also affordable for the community.
For a community with access to high-quality medicines that meet international standards.
UIP's achievement of EU-GMP certification is not only a milestone for a business, but also holds immense significance for public health. Instead of relying on imported medicines – which carry the risk of counterfeiting and are often expensive – Vietnamese people can now easily access internationally standardized pharmaceutical products domestically, at reasonable prices suitable for the local market.

Not only do EU-GMP-certified pills contribute to improved treatment effectiveness, but they also convey a message about Vietnamese intelligence and resilience. Amidst the ever-increasing demand for healthcare, Vietnamese people can still confidently choose products manufactured in their homeland with quality comparable to international markets.
The emergence of internationally standardized factories in Vietnam will strengthen people's confidence in "Made in Vietnam" products, further boost belief in the domestic pharmaceutical industry's internal strength, and inspire anticipation for Vietnam's future expansion into the international arena.
