Add sweet fruits

When Da Nang city and Quang Nam province merged, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (An Hai ward), Le Thanh Tong (Hoi An Tay ward) or Nguyen Binh Khiem (Ban Thach ward) were under the same roof, under the same mission and under the same new journey.

Therefore, we have the right to expect that specialized schools will join forces to transform themselves, reap more sweet fruits and extend their existing achievements.

Over the years, specialized schools in Da Nang and Quang Nam province (formerly) have won countless gold, silver and bronze medals at national and international competitions. Students have not only made their names in the country but also crossed distant oceans.

In April, the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology formed a delegation of students to participate in the 2nd Turkmenistan Mathematical Olympiad in the capital city of Ashgabat. As a result, 3/6 students from Da Nang and Quang Nam won 3 gold medals.

At the 2025 International Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) in Beijing (China), student Nguyen Phu Nhan (grade 11, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) won the Gold Medal and student Hoang Cong Bao Long (grade 11, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) won the Bronze Medal.

Following the success of the 2025 European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO) in Bulgaria, student Cap Kim Hoang Bao (grade 11, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) won a bronze medal and the 26th International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO) 2024 in Saudi Arabia; student Do Phu Quoc (grade 12, Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted) won a silver medal, contributing to Vietnam's 2nd place out of 89 participating countries and territories. Up to now, students of specialized schools still cherish the dream of the glory of the Gold Medal at the ICHO.

Making a bigger splash in the technology field, two students Huynh Huy Hung and Nguyen Nhat Tuan Kiet (grade 12, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) won second prize at the Regeneron ISEF 2025 International Science and Technology Fair with the topic "TalkieVBot - Robot supporting education for children with language disabilities" in the United States.

Or the letter “The Ocean’s Appeal”, student Pham Doan Minh Khue (class 10C2, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) sent to Hollywood’s leading director, James Cameron, with the message that the ocean is suffering from unhealable wounds, its resources are gradually depleted, its breath is struggling and it needs a film to awaken the world. The letter surpassed more than 1.6 million domestic entries to win the national first prize and international second prize of the 54th UPU International Letter Writing Competition.

Previously, in 2010, student Ho Thi Hieu Hien (grade 10, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) also won first prize in the 39th UPU International Letter Writing Competition with a letter to famous Chinese director Zhang Yimou, wishing him to make a film about AIDS.

Even more joyful, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular 22/2025/TT-BGDDT on advanced education programs in specialized schools, effective from October 15. Because in the context of the country promoting innovation, digital transformation, AI application and deep international integration, the development of high-quality human resources, especially talented and highly qualified human resources, is becoming more urgent.

With existing achievements and timely advanced education programs, after coming home, it is hoped that the specialized students will continue to mature in capacity to reap more sweet rewards and medals.
