Add sweet fruits

When Da Nang city and Quang Nam province merged, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (An Hai ward), Le Thanh Tong (Hoi An Tay ward) or Nguyen Binh Khiem (Ban Thach ward) were under the same roof, under the same mission and under the same new journey.

Therefore, we have the right to expect that specialized schools will join forces to transform themselves, reap more rewards, and extend their existing achievements.

Over the years, specialized high schools in Da Nang and the former Quang Nam province have reaped countless gold, silver, and bronze medals at national and international competitions. Furthermore, their students have not only made a name for themselves domestically but have also crossed distant oceans.

In April, the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, formed a delegation of students to participate in the 2nd Turkmenistan Mathematics Exchange Olympiad in Ashgabat. As a result, 3 out of 6 students from Da Nang and Quang Nam won 3 gold medals.

Simultaneously, at the 2025 International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI) in Beijing, China, student Nguyen Phu Nhan (11th grade, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) excellently won a gold medal, and student Hoang Cong Bao Long (11th grade, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) won a bronze medal.

Following the success of the 2025 European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO) in Bulgaria, student Cap Kim Hoang Bao (11th grade, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) won a bronze medal, and at the 26th International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO) in Saudi Arabia in 2024, student Do Phu Quoc (12th grade, Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted) won a silver medal, contributing to Vietnam's ranking of 2nd out of 89 participating countries and territories. To this day, the dream of winning a gold medal at the ICHO competition remains a cherished aspiration for students from specialized high schools.

Making a bigger impact in the field of technology, two students, Huynh Huy Hung and Nguyen Nhat Tuan Kiet (12th grade, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted), won second prize at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair ISEF 2025 with their project "TalkieVBot - A robot to support education for children with language disabilities" in the United States.

Or consider the letter "The Ocean's Plea," written by student Pham Doan Minh Khue (10C2 class, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) to leading Hollywood director James Cameron. The letter conveys the message that the ocean is suffering from unhealable wounds, its resources are dwindling, its breath is agonizing, and it needs a film to awaken the world. This letter surpassed over 1.6 million entries nationwide to win first prize nationally and second prize internationally in the 54th UPU International Letter Writing Competition.

Previously, in 2010, student Ho Thi Hieu Hien (10th grade, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) also won first prize in the 39th International UPU Letter Writing Competition with a letter to the famous Chinese director, Zhang Yimou, expressing her wish for him to make a film about AIDS.

Even more encouraging is the Ministry of Education and Training's issuance of Circular 22/2025/TT-BGDĐT on advanced education programs in specialized schools, effective from October 15th. This is because, in the context of the country's accelerated innovation, digital transformation, AI development, and deep international integration, the development of high-quality human resources, especially those with talent and specialized skills, is becoming increasingly urgent.

With their existing achievements and timely advanced education programs, it is hoped that after coming together under one roof, these specialized students will continue to mature in their abilities to reap even more rewards and medals.
