The Government and the Ministry of Construction require the Vietnam Road Administration, investors, project management boards, construction units of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Bung - Van Ninh and Van Phong - Nha Trang expressways... to accept and open the main route on April 30 to serve the travel needs of the people. Accordingly, these projects are expected to be put into operation before April 30, so the Vietnam Road Administration requests the Project Management Boards 6, 7 and Thang Long to complete and overcome the existing problems and inadequacies of the traffic infrastructure on the expressways (if any) before handing over the project to the management unit, this must be done before April 20.

Currently, the North-South Expressway project through Ha Tinh consists of 3 component projects with a total length of more than 102km. Of which, the total construction output of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi section reached 85%; Ham Nghi - Vung Ang reached 90%; The Vung Ang - Bung project continues to accelerate the construction progress of the final stage. Along with that, 2 rest stops through Cam Xuyen and Duc Tho handed over the site to the investor.

According to Mr. Nguyen Khac Trung - Executive Director of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang project, the project is divided into 2 packages, up to this point, the packages have achieved the volume as committed to the investor, respectively more than 90% and 88%. According to the expected calculation, by April 26, the two expressway component projects through Ha Tinh, Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, will open the main route to serve people during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.

In recent days, taking advantage of favorable weather, Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (Vinaconex) - one of the two contractors undertaking the construction of the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway, is concentrating human resources, machinery and equipment to construct asphalt concrete pavement on the main road at the section adjacent to the National Highway 8 intersection - the location adjacent to the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district.

Take advantage of the weather to "sprint"

Talking to PLVN Newspaper, engineer Dang Dinh Duyen (Xuan Truong Construction Private Enterprise) said that the unit is also "racing against time" to bring the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway to the open route as scheduled. At this time, throughout the project, the XL 12 package at Ham Nghi - Vung Ang constructed by Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise often works overnight, taking advantage of favorable weather. To save time, the construction teams of the unit often eat on-site. Dinner and snacks for staff and workers such as rice, bread or balut eggs... are brought to the construction site for those working "overnight shifts" to eat on-site.

Since the beginning of the year, Ha Tinh has often had rains, which have greatly affected the construction process. Therefore, taking advantage of the dry weather, the contractor has had to mobilize more manpower and machinery, divided into 3 shifts and 4 crews to make up for the progress. The "drain" time at the construction site can be extended until 9:00 p.m. or later when the asphalt mixing stations have not been fully utilized.

Xuan Truong Enterprise is in charge of 42/54km of the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway. Up to this point, the contractor has completed more than 90% of the work, in which many sections have been paved with asphalt, traffic safety signs, protective fences have been installed... "We are confident that we can finish the project before April 30 if the weather is favorable" - said engineer Dang Dinh Duyen.

The representative of the contractor for the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi project (General Company 319 - Ministry of National Defense ) informed that in the final stage, it is necessary to be careful in every step to avoid errors in project quality. Specifically, at the intersection with Provincial Road 550, the unit has mobilized 11 other construction teams to simultaneously deploy the work. Up to now, the volume at the intersection has reached over 95%, and it is expected that the entire item can be completed by April 26.

Up to now, 10 large bridges, intersections and 12km of main routes constructed by Corporation 319, the unit in charge of construction, have been basically completed, the intersection connecting with Ha Tinh City has been completed more than 95%. During overtime, engineers and workers are supported by the company with food and overtime allowances according to the regulations....

Thus, 4 key North-South expressway projects through the Central region, including Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang; Bung - Van Ninh with a length of 138km, along with Van Phong - Nha Trang with a length of 83km passing through Khanh Hoa province, will be opened to traffic on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification on April 30, 2025. These are also important links in connecting trade, promoting socio-economic development for the sunny and windy Central region full of potential.
