Chairman of Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh awarded the Emulation Flag to the collective with outstanding achievements.

On the afternoon of April 21, in Hanoi , the Vietnam Journalists Association held a Conference to summarize emulation and rewards in 2024. This is an activity in a series of events celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Reporting on the summary of emulation and reward work in 2024, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Tran Trong Dung emphasized: In 2024, the Vietnam Journalists Association had effective coordination with relevant departments and ministries, contributing to the success of many writing contests and thematic journalism awards, focusing on key issues of the country.

One of the bright spots in 2024 is the positive response of the association at all levels and press agencies to the movement "Building a cultural environment in press agencies" and the set of 12 cultural criteria. From here, the movement has created positive changes in consolidating and building an increasingly clean and strong association organization.

In 2024, the Party Central Committee, the Standing Committee, and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association will pay attention to, regularly lead, and direct all levels of the association to innovate emulation and reward work, effectively organize and implement, and strongly encourage and promote patriotism and solidarity among press agencies and journalists to strive to overcome difficulties and achieve important results.

With a large number of 13,846 members, 63 provincial and municipal Journalists Associations have organized many exciting activities, attracting, gathering, and training journalists to improve solidarity, professionalism, professional ethics, closely follow and complete well the political tasks of the unit and locality, creating momentum for socio-economic development, as well as promoting the local image.

All levels of the association always adhere to the core tasks of the Central Association, strive to innovate and create the content and methods of association activities; organize effective emulation movements, and promptly encourage the contributions of members.

The leading units in the emulation movement, operating effectively, creating a spreading effect throughout the association are the branches: Vietnam News Agency, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Voice of Vietnam Radio, Central Office of Vietnam Journalists Association, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Thanh Nien Newspaper...

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized: Emulation movements at the central and local levels, especially writing contests on advanced models and new rural construction, have contributed significantly to introducing, propagating, promoting emulation movements, encouraging new factors, advanced models in all areas of social life; arousing the spirit of creativity and social responsibility of journalists, actively contributing to building and defending the Fatherland.

In addition, the Standing Vice President of the Association also pointed out the limitations that need to be overcome: The emulation and reward movement has not developed comprehensively, evenly and continuously; many places are still heavily formalistic, not closely linked to political tasks and propaganda work; some emulation movements have not had a high spreading effect; the work of summarizing and concluding at some association levels has not been given due importance.

Many Association-level units have not proactively and promptly given rewards to groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in professional activities, Association activities, social and charity activities, and have been slow to discover and replicate advanced models; the number of reporters, editors, and full-time staff at the Association who have been proposed for rewards is not high.

Awarding Certificates of Merit from the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the association's work in 2024.

In the coming time, the Vietnam Journalists Association aims to continue to innovate and improve the quality of emulation and reward work, overcome the limitations that have been pointed out, in order to create stronger motivation for the development of Vietnam's revolutionary press - Comrade Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized.

On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association awarded the Emulation Flag of the Association to 21 collectives with outstanding achievements; 28 collectives and 51 individuals with outstanding contributions to professional activities and building the Association in 2024 received Certificates of Merit from the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

In 2024, the Provincial and Municipal Journalists Associations; Inter-branch Associations; and Sub-branch Associations decided to award Certificates of Merit to 140 groups and 737 individuals. The Emulation and Reward Council of the Vietnam Journalists Association reviewed the list of rewards and proposed that the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association decide to award Emulation Flags to 21 groups, Certificates of Merit to 28 groups and 51 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's activities in 2024.
