At the exam site at Vo Thi Sau High School in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, there are approximately 600 candidates from Vinschool High School, Vietnam-Australia International School, and Vo Thi Sau High School (Binh Thanh District).
Among them was GB, a male student (12th grade, class 12A5, Vo Thi Sau High School) who had just undergone appendicitis surgery and was being treated at Gia Dinh General Hospital (Binh Thanh district). He was brought to the exam site by ambulance.
According to the teacher, despite being granted special permission to graduate, the male student still made an effort to get to the exam site by ambulance, hoping to complete the exam.
"The male student was hospitalized for appendicitis surgery late on June 25th, and the hospital informed him that he would need to stay for at least 5 days. The examination board received this information on the day of the exam registration."
"The examination board facilitated the process of inviting parents to complete the necessary procedures and found ways to support the candidates in the most convenient way so that they could finish the exam. At the exam time, an ambulance will transport the student from the hospital to the school, and the ambulance will be waiting outside. At the end of the exam, medical staff will pick the student up," said Ms. Le Kim Mai, deputy head of the examination center at Vo Thi Sau High School.
Ms. Mai said that the male student's surgical wound was still painful, so he had to walk slowly, but he could still sit and do his homework.
"We assigned invigilators and supervisors to monitor the exam rooms so that we could provide timely support to the candidates. After the exam, she was taken to the hospital by ambulance for further treatment. Seeing her smile when she left the exam room, I felt relieved," Ms. Mai shared.
According to our investigation, Gia Dinh General Hospital admitted a patient named GB who is currently being treated in the hospital's surgical department; the patient's health is now stable.
