The charred body in Thu Duc City was caused by self-immolation.

Regarding the discovery of a charred body in an empty lot on Road 5, An Phu Ward, Thu Duc City (HCMC) on the morning of June 5, Thu Duc City Police have determined the nature of the incident.

Through the investigation of the scene, working with the family and extracting security camera images in the surrounding area, the police have enough basis to determine that the man LVT (31 years old, from Ben Tre ) committed suicide by self-immolation.

Police determined that Mr. T. was walking from Binh Thanh District to Thu Duc City, carrying a can of gasoline in his hand. When he arrived at an empty lot next to a project on Road 5, An Phu Ward, Mr. T. doused himself in gasoline and set himself on fire.

Mr. T. has just finished serving his prison sentence and returned to his hometown on June 4.
