The charred body in Thu Duc City was caused by self-immolation.

Regarding the discovery of a charred body on an empty lot on Street 5, An Phu Ward, Thu Duc City (HCMC) on the morning of June 5, Thu Duc City Police have determined the nature of the incident.

Through the investigation of the crime scene, working with the family and extracting security camera images from the surrounding area, the police have enough basis to determine that the man LVT (31 years old, from Ben Tre ) committed suicide by self-immolation.

Police determined that Mr. T. was walking from Binh Thanh District to Thu Duc City, carrying a can of gasoline. When he arrived at an empty lot next to a project on Street 5, An Phu Ward, Mr. T. doused himself in gasoline and set himself on fire.

Mr. T. has just finished serving his prison sentence and returned to his hometown on June 4.
