Husband doused himself in gasoline and then hugged his wife and set himself on fire.

On the afternoon of November 25, a source from Dan Tri reporter said that Kien Thuy District Police had begun investigating and clarifying the case of a husband dousing his wife in gasoline and then setting himself on fire in Dai Hop Commune, Kien Thuy District, Hai Phong City, at noon on November 24.

The incident was recorded by a nearby resident's security camera (Photo cut from clip).

The couple, Mr. MVH and Mrs. D.TH, both reside in Dong Thai commune, An Duong district (Hai Phong).

The initial cause was determined to be that Mr. H. and his wife often had conflicts. Recently, Mrs. H. returned to her parents' house in Dai Hop commune to live.

Mrs. H.’s family quickly reported to the commune police. When the police arrived, Mr. H. used a lighter to light himself, which had been doused in gasoline, then hugged his wife and set himself on fire.

Immediately, the commune police and people used fire extinguishers to rescue and put out the fire.

Mr. H. suffered burns all over his body, showing signs of severe burns and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, while Mrs. H. only suffered minor burns on her left hand.

The incident is being investigated by the authorities.
