Seeing off the delegation at Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar were the Speaker of the Senegalese Parliament , El Malick Ndiaye, several members of the Standing Committee of the Senegalese Parliament, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria and concurrently to Senegal, Tran Quoc Khanh, embassy staff, and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Senegal.
During the visit, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, and held talks with National Assembly Chairman El Malick Ndiaye. At these meetings and talks, senior Senegalese leaders expressed their pleasure in welcoming National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-level Vietnamese delegation on their official visit to Senegal – the first visit by a key leader of the Vietnamese Party and State to Senegal since the two countries established diplomatic relations. They considered this a qualitative transformation in bilateral relations and a visit between "brothers" who have enjoyed friendly relations for many years.
Assessing economic cooperation between Vietnam and Senegal, while acknowledging many positive advancements in recent times, both sides agreed that there is still much untapped potential. They stressed the need to further improve the legal framework in the fields of trade, industry, and investment, strengthen trade activities, connect businesses, and promote the export of key products to each other's markets.

Emphasizing agriculture as a central focus of cooperation between the two countries, Senegalese leaders affirmed Senegal's desire to import more rice from Vietnam to help ensure food security; they welcomed and expressed their readiness to facilitate investment and business by Vietnamese technology and service companies in Senegal, highlighting the potential for Vietnam and Senegal to become effective bridges for each country's goods to penetrate deeper into West African and Southeast Asian markets.
Regarding parliamentary cooperation, both sides affirmed that this is an important pillar in bilateral relations, contributing to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening the legal foundation for comprehensive cooperation; agreed to strengthen exchanges of high-level and other delegations; promote the role of the Parliamentary Friendship and Cooperation Group in multilateral parliamentary forums; continue to share legislative and oversight experiences; and enhance cooperation in training and information exchange.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Senegalese National Assembly Chairman El Malick Ndiaye signed a cooperation agreement between the two National Assemblies. The two National Assembly Chairmen also witnessed the ceremony announcing the establishment of the Vietnam-Senegal Parliamentary Friendship Group and the Senegal-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group.
