Seeing off the delegation at Blaise Diagne International Airport in the capital Dakar were President of the Senegalese National Assembly El Malick Ndiaye, several members of the Standing Committee of the Senegalese National Assembly , Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria and Senegal Tran Quoc Khanh, Embassy officials and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Senegal.
During the visit, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, and held talks with National Assembly Chairman El Malick Ndiaye. During the talks and meetings, Senegalese high-ranking leaders expressed their delight at welcoming National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation to Senegal on an official visit, the first visit by a key leader of the Vietnamese Party and State to Senegal since the two countries established diplomatic relations; considering this a qualitative change in bilateral relations and a visit between “brothers” who have had friendly relations for many years.
Assessing that although economic cooperation between Vietnam and Senegal has made many positive steps in recent times, there is still much untapped potential. The two sides agreed that it is necessary to continue perfecting the legal framework in the fields of trade, industry and investment, enhancing trade activities, connecting businesses, and promoting the export of key products to each other's markets.

Emphasizing that agriculture is the focus of cooperation between the two countries, Senegalese leaders affirmed that Senegal wishes to import more rice from Vietnam to help ensure food security; welcomed and was ready to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese technology and service enterprises to invest and do business in Senegal, emphasizing the possibility of Vietnam and Senegal becoming an effective bridge for each country's goods to penetrate deeper into the West African and Southeast Asian markets.
Regarding parliamentary cooperation, the two sides affirmed that this is an important pillar in bilateral relations, contributing to promoting mutual understanding and consolidating the legal foundation for comprehensive cooperation; agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at high and all levels; promote the role of the Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, cooperate at multilateral parliamentary forums; continue to share legislative and supervisory experiences; enhance training cooperation and information exchange.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Senegalese National Assembly Chairman El Malick Ndiaye signed a cooperation agreement between the two countries' parliaments. The two National Assembly Chairmen also witnessed the announcement ceremony of the establishment of the Vietnam - Senegal Parliamentary Friendship Group and the Senegal - Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group.
