Overheating repair order

Mr. Xuan Truong, the owner of a building materials agency on Le Trong Tan Street (Thanh Xuan District), said that in recent days, due to the impact of typhoon number 3, the demand for house and production facility repairs has increased sharply. This mainly relates to issues such as leaky or damaged roofs, or walls damp from heavy rain that need to be addressed.

"The workload has increased considerably. Every day, people call needing help with roof-related issues, waterproofing, etc. I've also urged my colleagues to try their best to assist families as quickly as possible, because the weather has been unpredictable lately, and if we don't fix it quickly, it will take even longer to repair," Mr. Truong shared.

Meanwhile, many building material dealers in areas such as Hoang Quoc Viet, Kim Nguu, Dai La, My Dinh..., all acknowledge that after typhoon No. 3, people's demand for repairing leaks, trimming fallen tree branches; and buying and selling roofing sheets, building materials, wall adhesive... has increased significantly.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Sang, owner of a steel and iron business in the My Dinh area (Nam Tu Liem district), said that in recent days, his shop has been fully booked for repairs due to a sharp increase in orders. Because of the limited number of workers, they cannot meet all the repair needs, and in many cases, they have had to turn away customers from distant locations.

"Currently, all our weekend repair appointments are booked in advance, and we won't be able to resume work until next week. Most of the repairs and reinforcements are for corrugated iron roofs that were installed carelessly by many families in the past, resulting in deterioration or the use of low-quality products that are not thick enough to withstand strong winds during storms, causing the roofs to be blown off or punctured by falling trees," Mr. Sang said.

Material prices are low.

Despite the high demand for repairs and building materials, business owners are trying to support people by selling at the listed prices and providing price quotes in advance when needed, so that people can repair their homes and get back on track after the storm.

Mr. Tran Quoc Thang, in charge of sales at the General Agency for Building Materials in Dai Mo (Nam Tu Liem), said that despite high demand, the agency does not increase product prices or take advantage of the demand to raise prices for profit.

"After the storm, although we received many orders, my agency will send out price quotes in advance and provide support during the construction process, such as pumping, sealing, and replacing gutters..." - Mr. Thang said.

Accordingly, the prices of construction steel products such as D10 CB300 ribbed steel bars have recently decreased slightly, for example, Hoa Phat Steel brand, with CB240 coiled steel at 13,480 VND/kg; D10 CB300 ribbed steel bars are priced at 13,580 VND/kg.

Viet Y Steel brand offers CB240 steel coils at 13,430 VND/kg; D10 CB300 ribbed steel bars at 13,400 VND/kg; Viet Duc Steel offers CB240 steel coils at 13,430 VND/kg, and D10 CB300 ribbed steel bars at 13,690 VND/kg.

Viet Sing Steel offers CB240 steel coils at 13,300 VND/kg and D10 CB300 ribbed steel bars at 13,600 VND/kg. VAS Steel offers CB240 steel coils at 13,350 VND/kg and D10 CB300 ribbed steel bars at 13,600 VND/kg.

As for roofing sheets, under the Hoa Sen brand, cold-rolled steel sheets range from 120,000 to 130,000 VND/m; insulated steel sheets from 170,000 to 220,000 VND/m; Dong A cold-rolled steel sheets range from 65,000 to 225,000 VND/m; Viet Nhat steel sheets range from 55,000 to 195,000 VND/m...
