Specifically: On the night of June 2nd, thunderstorms and heavy rain swept through the communes of Yen Son, Minh Tan, Xuan Thuong, Cam Con, Nghia Do and Pho Rang town… in Bao Yen district ( Lao Cai province ), causing damage to the roofs of 9 houses (1 in Xuan Thuong, 1 in Minh Tan, 3 in Yen Son, 3 in Nghia Do, and 1 in Cam Con).

One house had its roof completely blown off, causing significant property damage... The initial estimated total damage caused by the storm in Bao Yen district is nearly 1 billion VND.

The storm on the morning of June 3rd ripped off the roofs of dozens of houses in Bao Yen and Van Ban districts of Lao Cai province, causing damage exceeding 1 billion VND.

In Van Ban district, a storm swept through the communes of Khanh Yen Thuong, Khanh Yen Ha, and Lang Giang, causing damage to property, trees, and houses. According to reports, the storm damaged the roofs of 6 houses (3 in Khanh Yen Thuong commune, 2 in Lang Giang commune, and 1 in Khanh Yen Ha commune); one house in Khanh Yen Thuong commune had its roof completely blown off and was severely damaged; one house in Lang Giang commune had over 70% of its roof blown off; and one motorbike was damaged. The extent of damage to crops has not yet been determined. Initial estimates of property damage are over 100 million VND.

In addition, the storm also knocked down many trees and damaged some areas of crops; heavy rain also caused landslides on some inter-village and inter-commune roads in Van Ban and Bao Yen districts. Specific statistics are not yet available.

Immediately after the storm and floods, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Bao Yen and Van Ban districts directed the People's Committees of communes and towns to mobilize local forces to help households whose houses were damaged to repair, clean up, and stabilize their lives.
