By professionalizing the organization of these events, making systematic investments, and continuously providing new experiences, Binh Lieu district and Uong Bi city are transforming their unique local festivals into "magnets" attracting tourists during the autumn and winter seasons.

Participating for the fifth time in the opening ceremony of the Binh Lieu District Culture and Tourism Week 2024, Mr. Nguyen Ha Hai, Director of Hon Gai Tourism & Services Joint Stock Company - Quang Ninh Branch, commented: "Each year the festival is organized with new features, more spectacular than the previous year. This year, Binh Lieu recreated part of the procession of the royal decree in the Luc Na Temple Festival, and showcased local culinary specialties such as cooc mo cake, vermicelli, and banh chung bo me (a type of sticky rice cake) on stage... With such a unique program, the opening ceremony of the Culture and Tourism Week, the Golden Harvest Festival, and the Hoa So Festival are attractive highlights that we can incorporate into tour itineraries to introduce to tourists."
Following the opening ceremony, Binh Lieu organized a series of attractive cultural and sports activities to invite and attract tourists, such as: coordinating with the Quang Ninh Department of Culture and Sports to organize the 2024 Quang Ninh Province Ethnic Minority Women's Football Tournament - Netherlands Cup. The tournament attracted 120 athletes from 7 teams from two localities, Binh Lieu and Tien Yen districts. This contributed to promoting the new tourism product, San Chi Women's Football, in conjunction with tourism in Huc Dong commune (Binh Lieu) and Dai Duc commune (Tien Yen).

This year also marks the first time Binh Lieu district has organized a cultural space for the Tay, Dao Thanh Phan, and San Chi ethnic groups right at the 25/12 Square stage, giving visitors the opportunity to learn about the customs, rituals, and traditional costumes of the people of Binh Lieu. The program, held on weekend evenings, has gradually become an interesting cultural destination for tourists.
Mr. Dao Thanh Binh, Director of Aventure Vietnam Tourism Company, commented: "Unique cultural activities will be a plus point for tourists visiting Binh Lieu. During the day, tourists can visit rice fields, waterfalls, reed-covered hills, and border markers. In the evening, tourists can enjoy traditional cultural and artistic programs, and socialize around a campfire with the locals."
Recognizing the end of the year as the peak tourist season, Binh Lieu district has, for many years, issued a plan for its Culture and Tourism Week program with a series of unique activities, totaling around 20 events. In 2024, the Binh Lieu District Culture and Tourism Week featured 18 activities, including many attractive sports competitions such as the Dinosaur Ridge Mountain Climbing Challenge, the Hoa So Festival Cycling Race; the Ethnic Costume Showcase, the Binh Lieu District Ethnic Cuisine Competition, and the Ginger Cluster Competition…
To stimulate tourism during the autumn and winter seasons, Uong Bi City has been increasing the organization of festivals in recent years. Besides traditional festivals such as the Chrysanthemum Festival at Ba Vang Pagoda, the Medicine Buddha Festival at Trinh Pagoda, the commemoration of Emperor Tran Nhan Tong's passing into Nirvana, and the Emperor Tran Nhan Tong's birthday, Uong Bi City also organizes new festivals and cultural and sports activities. Since 2023, the city has organized the Uong Bi Golden Autumn Festival, showcasing the tourist landscapes of Phuong Hoang Hill and Binh Huong Peak, camping activities, and launching new tourism products. In 2024, the city will organize the first-ever "Yen Tu Heritage 2024 - Touching the Heritage Region" race within the framework of the Uong Bi Golden Autumn Festival.
Mr. Pham Xuan Thanh, Head of the Culture and Information Department of Uong Bi City, said: "The race is organized to promote the strengths of sports tourism associated with the promotion of the values of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son Kiet Bac Heritage Complex, which is currently being submitted to UNESCO for recognition as a world cultural heritage site. Although it's the first year of organization, the race has attracted great interest from tourists, especially sports enthusiasts. We have finalized the number of participating athletes at 6,000, 1,000 more than initially expected. Currently, the Organizing Committee is finalizing preparations to ensure the race takes place safely and successfully on December 8th."
With continuous innovation and investment in organizing year-end festivals in an increasingly professional manner, Binh Lieu and Uong Bi are aiming for higher visitor numbers. Accordingly, by the end of October, Uong Bi City had welcomed over 3.1 million visitors, reaching its annual visitor target ahead of schedule. As for Binh Lieu, by November 15th, the district had welcomed over 170,000 visitors, equivalent to 113.4% of the provincial target for the entire year.
