Agreement reached on the proposal to recognize Thieu Vien commune as meeting the criteria for a type V urban area.

On the morning of April 22nd, the 14th session of the Thieu Hoa District People's Council, term 2021-2026, held its 24th meeting (Special Session) to pass a Resolution on establishing a plan to recognize Thieu Vien commune as meeting the criteria for a type V urban area.

Overview of the session.

According to the revised and expanded master plan for the construction of Hau Hien town, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province, until 2040, approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 4954/QD-UBND dated December 6, 2021, Minh Tam and Thieu Vien communes are planned to have the characteristics and functions of a type V urban area. On December 13, 2023, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 939/NQ-UBTVQH15 recognizing Minh Tam commune as Hau Hien town in Thieu Hoa district. After the establishment of Hau Hien town, the urbanization rate of Thieu Hoa district reached 27.14%, exceeding the target of the Resolution of the 20th Congress of the Thieu Hoa District Party Committee, term 2020-2025.

In order to strive to increase the urbanization rate, Thieu Hoa district has agreed to develop a plan to recognize Thieu Vien commune as meeting the criteria for a type V urban area, to be submitted to the Provincial People's Committee in 2024.

The scope of the project covers the entire natural area of ​​Hau Hien town and Thieu Vien commune, with a total area of ​​1,534.6 hectares and a population of approximately 25,000 people. After Thieu Vien is recognized as a type V urban area, the urbanization rate of Thieu Hoa district is estimated to reach 31.2%.

Comrade Nguyen Van Bien, Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the District Party Committee, and Chairman of the District People's Council of Thieu Hoa district, presided over the meeting.

Also at the 24th session, the Thieu Hoa District People's Council carried out the procedure to dismiss Mr. Le Vinh, former Commander of the Thieu Hoa District Military Command, from his position as a member of the District People's Committee, 14th term, 2021-2026, due to a transfer of work. Mr. Trinh Huy So, Member of the District Party Committee Standing Committee and Commander of the District Military Command, and Mr. Le Long Giang, Head of the District Economic and Infrastructure Department, were elected as additional members of the District People's Committee, 14th term, 2021-2026.

The district leaders congratulated the two comrades who were elected as additional members of the District People's Committee.

The delegates unanimously adopted the district resolution at the meeting.

The session also unanimously adopted 15 resolutions, including 13 resolutions on investment decisions and public investment policies for 2024, including: Investment in the technical infrastructure project of Phu Hung No. 5 urban area, Thieu Hoa town; Policy on allocating funds to develop the Giang Quang and Ngoc Vu urban development programs until 2045; Investment in a project to equip schools in the district with teaching support equipment; Policy on investing in a project to restore and renovate some historical and cultural relics in the district.
