Some previous reports have mentioned that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be the only version of the iPhone 17 series to get a RAM upgrade. However, the latest information from Jeff Pu suggests that both the Pro and Pro Max models will receive this important upgrade. The increase in RAM could help improve Apple Intelligence capabilities, although Apple currently believes that 8 GB of RAM is the minimum required for AI applications.
Get ready for exclusive features on iPhone 17 Pro
Notably, all new Macs now come with at least 16GB of RAM, which could lead to Apple developing exclusive features for more powerful hardware in the future. This is not surprising, as Apple has previously introduced some exclusive features for the iPhone 16 models.
In addition, Siri is expected to have significant improvements in iOS 18.5 with on-screen recognition. The most impressive features will likely be released with iOS 19.
In Mark Gurman's latest Power On newsletter from Bloomberg reports that iOS 19 will see a new Apple Intelligence user interface and support for typing questions to Siri instead of just using voice. In particular, Siri will be able to access user data to provide contextual information and control third-party apps through new App Intents software. However, Gurman also notes that Siri will not use a ChatGPT-like model for these tasks.
