On the evening of October 6, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Thuy, Principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1 (Ba Don Ward, Quang Tri ), said that the image that was being circulated was indeed the school's lunch at noon that same day.
Currently, the school has nearly 600 boarding students, provided with meals by a business under a signed contract.
Boarding meals cause controversy on social networks

According to Ms. Thuy, after the information appeared on social media, the school worked with the food supplier. The company said that due to negligence in the preparation stage, and because they did not use pork during the African swine fever epidemic and food sources were scarce after the storm, the meal on October 6 did not meet standards.
According to Ms. Thuy, today's meal includes stir-fried squash with garlic, but because of slow shipping, it was replaced with peanut salt.
Ms. Thuy also said that the school is completing a report to send to the People's Committee of Ba Don Ward and the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province to clarify the incident.
As Thanh Nien reported, social media appeared a picture of a meal tray consisting of 3 pieces of ham, 1 boiled egg, a dish similar to sesame salt and soup with very little vegetables, said to be a 25,000 VND meal at school.
The photo quickly attracted many comments saying that the portion is too small compared to the price, making it difficult to ensure nutrition for boarding students.
On the same afternoon, speaking with Thanh Nien , Mr. Tran Thanh Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Don Ward, confirmed that he had received the information and worked directly with the school, requesting a specific report and reviewing the entire meal supply process to ensure quality and food safety for students.
