Latest information on the survey of 6th grade students entering 3 'hot' secondary schools in Thu Duc City

Each student can only register for the survey at one school.

Accordingly, Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School, Hoa Lu Secondary School and Binh Tho Secondary School will conduct enrollment by surveying grade 6 with the following quotas:

Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School: Enrolling 9 6th grade classes (including at least 5 integrated English classes, the rest are enhanced English classes) with 315 students.
Hoa Lu Secondary School: Recruiting 7 6th grade classes (including at least 3 integrated English classes, the rest are enhanced English classes) with 245 students.
Binh Tho Secondary School: Recruiting 8 6th grade classes (including at least 3 integrated English classes, the rest are enhanced English classes) with 280 students.

Admission requirements : Students who have completed primary school in Thu Duc City and students who have completed primary school elsewhere and are currently residing in Thu Duc City and wish to study in grade 6 at Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School, Hoa Lu Secondary School and Binh Tho Secondary School with a score of 9 or higher in the final exam of grade 5 in Vietnamese and math.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, informed that each student can only register for the survey at one school (without any other wishes), the survey results of that school will not be used to consider admission to the remaining two schools; students are encouraged to register at a school near their living area for convenience in pick-up and drop-off, avoiding pressure at a certain school.

Steps to register for the contest

Parents register online to take the survey: From 8:00 a.m. on May 12 to 5:00 p.m. on May 14.

Step 1 : Parents use a computer to register for the survey at the Electronic Information Portal of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City at: https://tpthuduc.hcm.edu.vn/ (Section Survey to evaluate 6th grade students of advanced international integration schools) or at https://ks6tpthuduc.qlgd.edu.vn .

After completing the survey registration form (according to the form), parents print and submit the application according to the instructions in the application.

Step 2 : Parents submit their application directly from May 15 to May 17 at the secondary schools registered for the survey: Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School, Hoa Lu Secondary School and Binh Tho Secondary School. The schools organizing the survey do not charge any fees when students register to take the survey.

Application form; 2 3cm x 4cm photos (taken within 1 year, CCCD photo style, full name, date of birth, place of birth must be clearly written on the back); Confirmation of identification code and actual residence in Thu Duc City (VnelD or form CT07, CT08); Valid copy of 5th grade report card or certificate of final exam scores in math, Vietnamese for 5th grade (original); Photocopy of English and IT certificates (if any).

From May 19 to 21: Parents receive survey participation cards as announced by the school.

Survey content and structure

Regarding the structure and content of the 6th grade exam, Mr. Vinh Nguyen said that all students applying to the 3 schools will take the aptitude test on May 24 for 90 minutes.

The survey consists of 2 parts:

Multiple choice section : Students answer 20 multiple choice questions in English about their understanding of natural sciences , social sciences and common sense (30 minutes).

Essay section (60 minutes) includes:

English proficiency test: Reading and writing (candidates take the test in English).
Test of mathematical ability and logical thinking (candidates take the test in Vietnamese).
Test of reading comprehension and writing skills (candidates take the test in Vietnamese).

It is expected that on May 30, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City will announce the survey scores and standard scores for grade 6 of the 3 above-mentioned secondary schools.

In case students have the same score, priority will be given in order: Students with English certificates from high to low level, students completing primary school program of high-quality, advanced, internationally integrated school model.

The results of the 6th grade survey are only valid for the school that registered for the survey and are not used to consider admission to the remaining 2 schools.
