According to information from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, in 2025, the school plans to organize 3 specialized competency assessment exams.

Specifically, this year's Specialized Competency Assessment (H-SCA) exam will have about 12,000 candidates taking the exam in rounds 1 and 2; about 7,000 candidates taking the exam in round 3.

In the first round, candidates will register for the exam from February 24 to March 14. This time, the exam will take place over four days, from April 3 to April 6 in Ho Chi Minh City, Gia Lai, Da Nang, and Can Tho . The results will be announced on April 18.

Round 2, candidates register from April 20 to May 10. The exam will take place over 4 days, from May 22 to 25 in Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Hue, Dak Lak . Results will be announced on June 6.

In the third round, candidates can register for the exam from June 8 to June 28. In the third round, the exam will only take place for three days, from July 8 to July 10, and will be held only in Ho Chi Minh City. The results will be announced on July 18.

The subjects in the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education's Specialized Competency Assessment Test include: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature and English. Candidates take the test on the computer, each subject has 90 minutes.

Candidates can choose to register for one or more of the above exams to apply for admission to majors that apply the admission method using the results of the Specialized Competency Assessment exam according to the school's admission plan in 2025 and schools that use the exam results.

Of which, the registration fee for Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology is 250,000 VND; Literature is 400,000 VND and English is 700,000 VND.

Candidates are students in grades 11 and 12 or individuals who wish to learn about the exam and its papers. Candidates register for the exam and pay the registration fee online.

Regarding the sample test for the Specialized Competency Assessment Test (H-SCA), the school has had detailed information since August 2024. Accordingly, the test will closely follow the 2018 generaleducation program, with 12th grade knowledge accounting for about 70-80%, the rest is 10th and 11th grade knowledge.

Up to now, the school informed that there are 8 other schools using this exam score for admission, including: Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, Hanoi University of Education, Hanoi University of Education 2, pedagogical schools under Thai Nguyen University, Hue University, Da Nang University, Vinh University and Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

According to information from Ho Chi Minh City National University, the school's 2025 capacity assessment exam will have 2 rounds.

Phase 1, candidates register for the exam from January 20 to February 20, 2025.

The exam is held in 25 provinces/cities, including: Thua Thien Hue, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, An Giang, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau.

The school will only hold the exam on March 30. The results will be announced on April 16, 2025.

Phase 2, candidates register for the exam from April 17 to May 7, 2025.

The exam took place in 11 provinces/cities, including: Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tien Giang and An Giang.

Exam will be held on June 1, 2025. Results will be announced on June 16, 2025.

The Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test is not divided into subjects but has only one test. The test structure includes 3 parts. Part 1: Language use; Part 2: Mathematics; Part 3: Scientific thinking. The test time is 150 minutes, including 120 multiple choice questions.

According to the latest information, 74,781 candidates have registered for the first round of the 2025 competency assessment exam. According to Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh - Director of the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment of Ho Chi Minh City National University, it is expected that the number of candidates registering for the entire first round of the exam could reach 120,000 people.

Candidates register for the exam completely online, each candidate uses 1 account to register, print the exam notification form, view exam results and download the result notification form.

During the registration and exam process, candidates will be scheduled to take the exam at the nearest exam location. The exam notification form is created about a week before the exam date. Candidates must log in to their account to print the exam notification form and use it when taking the exam. At the same time, candidates must use the original citizen identification card or identification card when taking the exam.

According to VNU-HCM, there are currently 100 schools using the results of the school’s capacity assessment exam for admission. Among them are 8 member schools of VNU-HCM, 83 other universities and 9 colleges. These schools are mostly in the Southern, Central and Central Highlands regions.
