AP reported that King Charles III said on December 12 that thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention, and adherence to doctors' instructions, his cancer treatment could be shortened in the coming year.
"Early diagnosis simply saves many lives. I know firsthand the difference it has made in my own case, allowing me to continue living a full life even while undergoing treatment," the 77-year-old king said, while encouraging everyone to get screened so that diseases can be detected early and treated promptly.

However, King Charles III has not disclosed what type of cancer he has or what treatment he is receiving.
A statement from Buckingham Palace added that King Charles III's cancer treatment has moved to a "preventive phase" and his health is being closely monitored to ensure a better recovery.
King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer while undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate gland in January 2024. Following the diagnosis, King Charles temporarily suspended his public appearances for about two months to focus on treatment and recovery.
Since returning to public life, he has visited cancer treatment centers across the country and shared his story with other patients.
