Having loved and been passionate about Economics and Languages since high school, Tran Thi Thu Hien (Can Loc, Ha Tinh) decided to choose Foreign Trade University as the place to pursue her dream.

Passing the first choice to study Foreign Economics with 27.25 points in block A1 (Math, Physics, English), Hien set the goal of studying carefully, seriously and graduating early.

After 3.5 years of studying, Thu Hien has reaped many sweet fruits, especially the achievement of being the school's valedictorian with an average score of 3.99/4.0. She is also one of 96 valedictorians who graduated in 2023, honored by the Hanoi People's Committee.

During her 3.5 years of studying at the Foreign Trade University, Hien won scholarships in all semesters. In addition, the female student also received many scholarships sponsored by organizations, units, and businesses.

Sharing the secret to “hunting” for scholarships, Hien said that it is necessary to research and understand the scholarship criteria. At Foreign Trade University, scholarships are considered based on two criteria: 10-point scale study score and training score. Therefore, to get a scholarship, Hien needs to have outstanding results in both study and extracurricular activities.

In her studies, Hien is always meticulous and serious in every subject, from preparing lessons before class, listening to lectures and interacting with lecturers and classmates, to arranging review time before the final exam. Thanks to that, Hien's academic performance is always among the highest in the whole course.

Hien regularly participates in school activities, clubs, volunteer activities and scientific research... These are the secrets that help female students win all the school's scholarships.

During her studies and extracurricular activities, Hien had many happy and sad memories. Due to her confusion and lack of experience, the first time she was assigned the responsibility of organizing an event for the club, she did not complete her role well.

However, the female student learned a lot about event organization skills, problem solving and increased her sense of responsibility for the role she took on. From there, Hien realized that failure is not so scary, the scary thing is not daring to try what you want to do.

Hien also actively participates in competitions and scientific research activities. Thanks to that, Hien finds like-minded friends to help her go further.

From her relationship with her close friend at the club, the female student from Ha Tinh found a companion to join a scientific research competition and won school-level prizes as well as having many articles published in domestic and international magazines.

Despite her success, the female student also faced many failures. “In many activities and competitions, sometimes I did not do well. From that, I can learn from experience and become more mature. Therefore, I also want to tell young people to dare to think, dare to do, we will have many valuable experiences,” Hien confided.

Realizing early on that she needed practical experience, Hien took the opportunity to learn and interact with working environments suitable for her major. Thanks to that, the female student achieved high results in her internship at the Customs Declaration Department of a Japanese logistics company.

After that, Hien was hired by an American logistics company with a branch in Vietnam, even though she had not yet graduated from university. To be accepted into the company, Hien had to pass many rounds of selection and interviews with hundreds of other candidates. "In the end, I was the only one accepted," the female student said.

The female student said she will continue to cultivate and improve herself every day to become a useful person for society. “In the current context of globalization, integration and digital transformation, I will focus on cultivating foreign languages, knowledge and technological skills to contribute effectively and practically to the country,” Hien shared.
