TPO - The top scorer in the first phase of the 2025 Thinking Skills Assessment Exam at Hanoi University of Science and Technology achieved a record-high score of 98.61/100, the highest ever.

The first round of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) exam in 2025 was held in two sessions, Saturday afternoon (January 18th) and Sunday morning (January 19th), with nearly 14,000 candidates registered to take the exam.

The exam was held simultaneously at 31 testing locations, including 18 in Hanoi and 13 in other provinces such as Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh , Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Da Nang. The exam was successfully conducted with a participation rate of over 99%.

Results of the first round of grading: The highest score in the first round of 2025 was 98.61/100. This is the highest score ever, breaking the current record for the top scorer. The top scorer of the first round of 2025 is from Bac Ninh Specialized High School. In 2024, the national top scorer in the TSA exam achieved 94.43/100 points.

In the first round this year, 5 candidates scored above 90 points; 65 candidates scored above 80 points; and 637 candidates scored above 70 points. The average score for the first round of 2025 was 54.54/100.

The top 5 of the first round were contestants from the following high schools: Bac Ninh Specialized High School, Vinh Bao High School (Hai Phong), Tam Duong High School and Lien Son High School (Vinh Phuc), and the Specialized High School for Natural Sciences (Vietnam National University, Hanoi).

The results of the TSA exam will be used in the university admissions process for the 2025 admissions season, with nearly 50 schools using them.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to increase the number of admissions based on TSA exam scores for 65 training programs. The 2025 TSA exam has two more rounds remaining, specifically:

Phase 2: Exam dates: March 8-9; Registration system opens: February 1-6.

Phase 3: Exam dates April 26-27; registration system opens April 1-6.
