The Prime Minister will hold a dialogue with farmers in 2025.

QTO - On the morning of December 10, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union chaired and coordinated with the Government Office, ministries and branches to organize a conference on the Prime Minister's dialogue with farmers in 2025. Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister chaired the conference. Co-chairing the conference were Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; leaders of central ministries, departments and branches. Attending the conference at the Quang Tri province bridge were Comrade Le Van Bao, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of relevant departments and branches.

The 2025 Prime Minister's Conference on Dialogue with Farmers, themed "Applying Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation in Farmers," aims to concretize the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation of the nation; and Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on the development of the private economy in the new situation.

During this dialogue, there were more than 5,000 opinions, proposals, and recommendations from farmers, businesses, and cooperatives sent to the Government and the Prime Minister . At the conference, farmers, cooperative members, and businesses raised questions, exchanged opinions, and made proposals directly to the Government, the Prime Minister, and leaders of ministries, branches, and localities. On that basis, the Prime Minister, together with leaders of ministries and branches, listened to, exchanged, and discussed the issues proposed by farmers to resolve difficulties and problems, and at the same time proposed mechanisms and policies to remove them.

The conference focused on discussing and dialogue on groups of contents that farmers want the Government to pay attention to, including: Solutions and actions of farmers to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation in the fields of agriculture and rural areas; mechanisms and policies to apply technical advances and modern technology to agricultural production, forming a sustainable agricultural production chain, especially technology in plant and animal varieties; traceability; processing and branding of agricultural products.

The role of farmers in international integration and solutions to support farmers in promoting the application of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in quality agricultural production, ensuring export standards and expanding global markets; mechanisms and solutions to support and promote institutional reform and simplify administrative procedures in agriculture and rural areas; and solutions to unlock resources in terms of natural resources, environment, land, and labor.

The solutions aim to promote and support the development of the private economy in agriculture and rural areas, targeting farming households, individual businesses in rural areas, agricultural cooperatives, and service businesses, contributing to Vietnam's double-digit economic growth target in the coming period; addressing the issue of disaster prevention and control, floods, and fundamental solutions to minimize damage and proactively respond to extreme weather events in the context of increasingly severe climate change.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed the crucial role of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas in the history of national construction as well as in the 40 years of reform. This is a solid foundation for developing the agricultural sector, building rural areas, and creating a strong, prosperous, civilized, thriving, and happy nation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directed ministries, sectors, and localities to focus on implementing the issues proposed and recommended by farmers to support people and businesses in developing sustainable agriculture. This includes concretizing the Politburo's resolutions related to agriculture, rural areas, and farmers to ensure effective implementation; paying attention to building brands and markets for agricultural products, strengthening and expanding domestic markets, and developing potential overseas markets to improve the quality of agricultural products; focusing on green production, digital transformation, circular economy, and food safety to develop agriculture in the context of integration in the new era. The agricultural sector also emphasizes the application of science and technology and chain linkages in production to develop products, build new rural areas, aiming to increase income, create jobs, improve the lives of farmers, and create a foundation for the country's economic development.
