Nestled at the foot of the majestic Truong Son mountain range, Cha Cung stream welcomed us with a refreshing and pure atmosphere. Its diverse terrain combined with pristine natural landscapes has made it an ideal destination for those who love to travel and crave new experiences.
Viewed from above, the stream meanders gracefully like a ribbon of emerald green silk, embraced by majestic, towering limestone cliffs. The water weaves through large and small rocks, creating white foam at the rapids before cascading down and merging into the tranquil, still lake below. All of this creates a picturesque landscape, both powerful and poetic.
Ms. Le Thi Thanh Loan, a tourist from Ha Tinh, shared: “This place boasts magnificent limestone mountains, lush green trees, and moss-covered waterfalls. The temperature here is mild year-round, and the air is incredibly fresh. To reach the beach, our group walked along the stream, experienced crossing a monkey bridge, and admired the stunning scenery. The wooden and bamboo huts here are built in a very eco-friendly way, blending harmoniously with nature.”

The period from April to August each year is the ideal time to visit Cha Cung. The dry weather , crystal-clear and cool streams are the perfect remedy to dispel the sweltering heat of summer. At Cha Cung, visitors can participate in a 6-hour experience completely isolated from the technological world: no phone signal, no Wi-Fi, just people fully immersed in nature.
Here, visitors can freely participate in a variety of activities, including trekking routes through the primeval forest and walking along streams. Immerse yourself in the cool water, experience paddleboarding to admire the stalactites in the caves—a wonder bestowed by nature after hundreds of millions of years of accumulation; or participate in kayaking, waterfall sliding, and fishing. After hours of physical activity, the feeling of camping and resting on wooden platforms set up by the stream, listening to the sounds of the forest at night, will be unforgettable memories.
Besides its stunning scenery, Chà Cùng also captivates visitors with its unique culinary culture. Products from the Quảng Trị mountains and forests, such as grilled chicken with basil leaves, grilled wild boar, and fresh wild vegetables, are prepared with rich, authentic local flavors.
Ms. Bui Huong, a tourist from Hanoi, expressed: “Amidst the pristine scenery, we were able to bathe in the stream, paddle boats, and then rest and eat right on the wooden platforms on both banks. Especially, the food and drinks were all local specialties, always retaining their unique freshness and deliciousness, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.”
According to Nguyen Van Tuan, Director of the Cha Cung Eco-tourism Area, this place attracts tourists not only with its natural beauty but also as a destination for exploring and experiencing local culture. Visitors can visit the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic minority villages to learn about the customs and traditions of the people living in the Truong Son mountain range and enjoy local specialties. It is known that, during the summer alone, the tourist area attracted more than 3,000 visitors.
The development of the Chà Rào-Chà Cùng stream area is not limited to spontaneous or local activities. A strategic vision for this "emerald gem" is gradually being realized in a sustainable way. "After the Quảng Ninh District Protective Forest Management Board completes the sustainable forest management plan, the company will proceed with developing a project to build a resort tourism model under the forest canopy combined with exploring the Sơn Nữ and Tiên Nữ caves and learning about the culture of the Bru-Vân Kiều ethnic minority people to attract tourists from other provinces and internationally," said Nguyễn Văn Tuấn, Director of the Chà Cùng Eco-tourism Area.
With well-planned and sustainable steps, it is believed that in the near future, Cha Rao-Cha Cung will become a bright spot on the tourism map, attracting a large number of tourists from other provinces and international friends.
