At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam consistently pursues a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, being a good friend and reliable partner of other countries, and a responsible member of the international community, for peace, friendship, cooperation and development in the region and the world. Vietnam does not choose sides but chooses justice and reason.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always treasures the traditional friendship and good cooperation in the spirit of the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, always remembers the Russian people's support for the Vietnamese people in difficult times; pays attention to promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, including economic-trade, investment, science-technology, education-training, culture-tourism, sports... for the benefit of both sides and to connect the people of the two countries.

The two sides highly appreciated the results achieved in bilateral cooperation in recent times with the maintenance of political relations and continued promotion of cooperation in traditional fields; affirmed that the 24th Session of the Vietnam - Russia Intergovernmental Committee is a favorable opportunity for the two sides to discuss and agree on measures to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, as well as create new driving forces to effectively implement cooperation projects in the coming time.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister D. Chernyshenko affirmed that the Russian Government considers Vietnam one of its leading important partners in the region; shares Vietnam's viewpoint on respecting international law, the United Nations Charter, ensuring the interests of both sides; expresses the wish that the two sides continue to maintain contact and exchange to promptly remove obstacles and propose measures to implement bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshenko also informed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of the main results of the Intergovernmental Committee Meeting as well as the Vietnam - Russia Business Forum held on the sidelines of the meeting with the participation of nearly 200 businesses of the two countries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the efforts of the two countries' ministries and sectors in preparing for the 24th Meeting and welcomed the results achieved by the Meeting.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the two sides need to promote and strengthen the role of the Intergovernmental Committee cooperation mechanism to promote multifaceted cooperation, including further increasing bilateral trade turnover, expanding the list of investment projects in areas of potential and demand for both sides, as well as new cooperation directions in line with trends such as disease prevention, climate change response, clean energy, digital government, etc.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his gratitude to the Russian leaders and Government for their attention and facilitation for the Vietnamese community to do business, live and study stably in Russia; and hoped that the Russian side would continue to pay attention to Vietnamese citizens.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent greetings and regards to Prime Minister of the Russian Federation M. Mishustin.
