In the context of the booming Fourth Industrial Revolution, promoting digital transformation to develop smart tourism is an inevitable trend and one of the priority directions of Vinh Phuc's tourism industry. This aims to create attractive tourism products and services, enhancing the visitor experience. This will contribute to improving competitiveness and developing the tourism industry in a professional, modern, and efficient manner.
Since 2023, the province has launched a smart tourism portal and a smart tourism application on iOS and Android platforms, allowing tourists to easily find all information about tourism in Vinh Phuc, such as an overview of the land and people of Vinh Phuc; destinations categorized by type of tourism (ecotourism, cultural-historical tourism, or spiritual tourism); accommodation; restaurants and eateries, and many other amenities.
In addition, the system integrates 360-degree virtual tours, digital tourist maps, and multilingual automatic commentary… to provide tourists with new experiences from multiple perspectives through a diverse and vivid system of images and sounds, facilitating tourists in planning itineraries, choosing suitable transportation, and destinations.
Nearly two years after its launch, the Vinh Phuc Smart Tourism Portal has received over 1 million visits. The most frequently accessed content is exploring the digital map and viewing Vinh Phuc through a 360-degree virtual tour.

Mr. Le Tuan Linh, a tourist from Di An city (Binh Duong province), said: "This is the first time my family has visited Tam Dao for sightseeing and relaxation. To prepare for the trip, I accessed the Vinh Phuc Smart Tourism Portal a month in advance to find information. I was very surprised that with just a few simple steps, I could find all the necessary information for the trip, thus shortening the time in planning the itinerary and choosing reputable accommodation, restaurants, and eateries that suited my family's needs."
In particular, experiencing the 360-degree virtual tour made me incredibly excited and eager to visit Tam Dao soon to experience it firsthand and admire the dreamy natural scenery.
To promote digital transformation in tourism, all levels, sectors, and localities in the province have created and posted many videos, clips, and images of ideal tourist destinations, poetic and majestic natural landscapes, or typical local specialties on fanpages and social media platforms such as Facebook and Zalo.
Youth Union branches at all levels in the province have implemented more than 100 projects to digitize historical sites and landmarks in the area, such as Tich Son Pagoda in Tich Son ward (Vinh Yen); Ly Nhan communal house in Phu Xuan commune, Gia Du communal house in Gia Khanh town (Binh Xuyen); Ngo Temple in Dai Dinh town (Tam Dao); the temple of the First Laureate Pham Cong Binh in Dong Van commune (Yen Lac)...
Recently, the Tam Dao District Youth Union, in coordination with the Dai Dinh Town Youth Union, launched the youth project "Digitizing Historical Sites in Dai Dinh Town". Data and information on 16 historical sites in the town have been digitized into QR codes, including text, images, and videos.
With just a QR code scan, visitors can admire the architectural beauty, learn about the history, transformation process, cultural value, and access the map of locations of historical sites such as Truc Lam Tay Thien Zen Monastery, Mau Sinh Temple, Thien An Pagoda, Tay Thien Mandala Great Stupa, etc.
Comrade Vu Viet Dai, Secretary of the Youth Union of Dai Dinh town, said: Exploiting the advantages of technology, digital transformation, and digitizing historical relics will help people and tourists access and learn about historical relics in a more convenient, vivid, and attractive way.
In addition, youth union members in the town are actively developing digital tourism on social media platforms, regularly creating and posting articles, images, and videos introducing the people, historical sites, and festivals in the town through the Facebook pages "Dai Dinh Town Youth Union" and "Tay Thien Tourism". Many of these videos have attracted tens of thousands of views, such as videos about the Tay Thien festival, Soong Co folk song performances, and competitions for wrapping banh chung, banh gio, and banh day (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes).
In addition, tourism service businesses in the province are stepping up the application of digital technology in promoting and showcasing their image, providing services, customer care, and supporting online payments, contributing to enhancing the tourist experience.
In 2024, the province welcomed and served 10.6 million tourists, an increase of 14% compared to 2023; total tourism revenue reached 4,000 billion VND, an increase of 10.8% compared to 2023.
During the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Snake 2025, the entire province welcomed nearly 210,000 visitors, an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2024; revenue reached over 132 billion VND, a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The majority of overnight visitors were domestic tourists, concentrated in the Tam Dao, Tay Thien, and Dai Lai tourist areas.
Building on the achievements, in the coming period, the province will continue to promote digital transformation, aiming towards the development of smart tourism. This will contribute to enhancing the visitor experience, widely disseminating and promoting the cultural heritage system, the image of the land and people of Vinh Phuc to domestic and international tourists.
