
General Asim Munir, the Pakistani army commander and a key mediator in negotiations between the US and Iran, has departed for Tehran. He is expected to meet with high-ranking Iranian officials, including Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Pakistani Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi is also holding his third consecutive day of talks in Tehran to discuss proposals to end the war with the US and Israel. At the same time, a Qatari negotiating team has arrived in Tehran to help reach an agreement to end the war with Iran and resolve outstanding issues.
Meanwhile, speaking to reporters at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Sweden, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said there had been some small progress in negotiations aimed at ending the war in Iran.
Alongside diplomatic efforts, international pressure on Tehran continues to mount, with the European Union (EU) planning to impose new sanctions on Iranian officials and other individuals responsible for the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
