Trade in services continues to maintain stable growth.

(sonla.gov.vn) In May, goods circulating in the market were diverse and abundant, meeting consumer needs and serving production and business activities in the area. In the first five months of the year, total retail sales of goods are estimated at over 19,119 billion VND, an increase of 12.9% compared to the same period last year.

Trade in services continues to maintain stable growth.

Total retail sales of goods in May 2026 are estimated at VND 3,855 billion, a decrease of 0.2% compared to the previous month and an increase of 10.9% compared to the same period last year . For the first five months of the year, total retail sales are estimated at VND 19,119.3 billion, an increase of 12.9% compared to the same period; goods circulated smoothly, and the supply of goods, raw materials, and fuel for production and business was always ensured. The value of goods participating in exports in May 2026 is estimated at USD 7.06 million , a decrease of 34.95% compared to the previous month and an increase of 18.52% compared to the same period last year; the main export items in the month included : tea, cassava products, bananas, etc. For the first five months of the year, the value of goods participating in exports is estimated at USD 117.96 million , an increase of 15.31% compared to the same period.

In addition, all levels and sectors are strengthening management to ensure the supply of petroleum products in the area; maintaining a regular reporting regime on market conditions; and the Market Management force is coordinating inspections, supervision, and public awareness campaigns, requiring businesses to sign commitments to comply with regulations. The effective implementation of legal education and awareness campaigns on transportation business activities, ensuring traffic order and safety, continues. Inspections and monitoring of transportation vehicles are being carried out through vehicle tracking devices and cameras . In May 2026, the total number of passengers transported was 592,529 thousand, an increase of 8.2% compared to the same period; the number of passenger-kilometers was 70.444 million, an increase of 8.1% compared to the same period; the volume of goods transported was 619,959 thousand tons, an increase of 8% compared to the same period; and the volume of goods in transit was 71.091 million ton-kilometers, an increase of 8.1% compared to the same period last year.

Implement decisive measures to combat smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the new situation as directed by the Prime Minister ; establish a task force to conduct patrols and inspections to prevent and combat smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement in the province .
