The Swiss government has approved a draft of a new foreign policy strategy for the period 2024-2027, which clearly defines objectives and priorities in light of the new circumstances.
According to SwissInfo, the 52-page draft outlines several priorities in Switzerland's foreign policy, including strengthening cooperation with Europe and other close partners, and promoting progress in combating climate change.
From the Swiss government's perspective, in a world marked by increasing economic and political fragmentation, ensuring a stable and prosperous Europe is crucial. Therefore, Switzerland will focus on constructive relationships with all regions of the world.
Climate change, biodiversity, pollution, and sustainable energy supply are also given importance. The draft is scheduled to be submitted to the National Assembly 's foreign affairs committees and subcommittees for consultation before finalization and approval early next year.
