The renowned French pianist David Greilsammer performs.

David Greilsammer is a renowned pianist known for his innovative and confident performance style. He once performed all of Mozart's piano sonatas in a single day in Paris and conducted all 27 of Mozart's piano concertos in nine consecutive concerts. Greilsammer has been the Music Director of the Medellín Philharmonie Orchestra in Colombia since 2022 and is a Grammy Award winner. He is considered one of the most talented pianists today, with groundbreaking musical projects. He is also the founder and music director of the Geneva Camerata, one of the world's leading pioneering orchestras.

David Greilsammer has toured Vietnam twice. The first time was in June 2024, when he performed the solo program "Journey with Satie" in Hanoi , showcasing masterpieces by composer Erik Satie along with many other classical works. In 2025, he returned to Vietnam with the piano solo program "Fairy, Dream and Dance," in collaboration with the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra in major cities: Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, Da Lat, and Ho Chi Minh City. The program offered a magical and versatile musical journey, ranging from Schumann and Ravel to Debussy and Gershwin.

His performances are highly regarded for their novelty and masterful piano technique, boldly experimenting with and combining various musical genres, from Baroque to contemporary. He created a magical musical space with his program "Fairies, Dreams and Dances" in Vietnam, performing works such as Schumann's "Davidsbundlertanze," Debussy's "Fairys Are Wonderful Dancers," Gershwin's "Prelude," Purcell's "Courante," and Ravel's "Couper's Tomb." His powerful ability to inspire has left a deep impression on both audiences and music professionals.

The performance in the ancient capital lasted only an hour, but it left the Hue audience with a range of emotions. The hall was solemn and quiet. Greilsammer was completely focused on playing the piano and delivering the music with extreme precision. It's gratifying to see Hue gradually becoming a promising destination for great artists.

Greilsammer shared: “This is my second time visiting Hue. The audience and the cuisine here are fantastic. I had a mentoring session with young students at the Hue Academy of Music. They are truly talented and promising. Vietnamese classical music is gradually developing and rebuilding. With proper investment in facilities and teaching staff, a generation of talented classical artists will emerge here in the future.”
