Ha Tinh General Hospital has nearly 1,000 patients coming for examination and more than 1,000 inpatients every day, along with many accompanying and visiting relatives. In order to build a smoke-free hospital, creating a fresh, green - clean - beautiful environment in the hospital grounds, the hospital has hung and pasted billboards and posters to promote the prevention of the harmful effects of tobacco, as well as no-smoking signs.

Thanks to the promotion of regulations on preventing the harmful effects of tobacco and the effects of tobacco smoke on human health, the situation of patients and their relatives smoking in hospital rooms and hallways has disappeared. 100% of medical staff also say no to tobacco in the workplace.

Ha Tinh Lung Hospital is also a pioneer in the movement to build a smoke-free hospital. Up to now, 100% of medical staff do not smoke at work; patients and their families have also raised awareness, not smoking in hospital rooms and on hospital grounds.

Not only the hospitals at the commune and ward levels, but also the hospitals at the ward level have done a good job of preventing and combating the harmful effects of tobacco. At medical facilities, there are no-smoking signs and slogans about the harmful effects of tobacco. In order for patients and their families to comply, medical staff and workers are the first to set an example.

In addition to implementing the Law on Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms, hospitals and medical stations have increased training and propaganda about the harmful effects and serious consequences of tobacco on human health as well as the benefits of quitting smoking.

Some places have even established a Tobacco Harm Prevention Team to carry out inspections and supervision in the workplace. Thanks to the active participation, the rate of smoking in hospitals and medical facilities has decreased sharply, almost to zero. The awareness of patients and their families has increased, especially those with chronic diseases, cardiovascular diseases, lung diseases, etc. have learned how to quit smoking. This participation has created a clean medical environment, helping patients recover their health.

Up to now, 100% of Ha Tinh medical units have established and completed the Steering Committee for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control at the unit; developed plans and regulations for smoke-free medical facilities. At the same time, all units have organized the signing of commitments to implement smoke-free policies.
