Tien Yen: Maintaining economic growth momentum.

Amidst the mixed challenges and difficulties of 2024, Tien Yen district has implemented proactive, decisive, and comprehensive solutions to fully carry out its socio-economic tasks.

Positive results

In 2024, thanks to the spirit of unity, proactiveness, and creativity of the Party committee, government, business community, and people, Tien Yen district achieved many positive results in socio-economic development, national defense and security, Party building, and the political system.

In 2024, Tien Yen district continued to effectively implement the agricultural restructuring plan, linking it with agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production to maximize the potential and advantages of the locality. Accordingly, the district directed the implementation of the plan to plant 212 hectares of large timber forests (lim, giổi, lát) in 2024; to date, 205.16 hectares have been planted, achieving 170% of the provincial target. The entire district currently has over 400 farms and 267.5 hectares of shrimp farming using intensive, semi-intensive, and high-tech methods. The total value of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries production in 2024 is estimated at nearly 1,592 billion VND, an increase of 25.1% compared to 2023.

Furthermore, the five districts have reformed their growth models, increasing the contribution of the industrial, commercial, service, and tourism sectors, effectively leveraging all potential, advantages, opportunities, and favorable geographical location, infrastructure, and resources, and shifting the economic structure in a focused and targeted manner. Accordingly, the growth rate of industrial, commercial, service, and tourism production value is estimated at 15.8% (exceeding the Resolution target by 0.8%). Specifically, the industrial and handicraft sector is estimated to reach over 678 billion VND, an increase of 23% compared to 2023. The production value of the trade and service sector is estimated at 2,058.2 billion VND, an increase of 18% compared to 2023. Total state budget revenue in 2024 is estimated at 135.996 billion VND, reaching 105% of the provincial budget target.

Alongside economic growth, in 2024, the tourism, culture and social welfare sectors of Tien Yen district received significant attention and achieved many important results. To date, the entire district no longer has any poor households according to both the central and provincial criteria; the number of near-poor households according to provincial criteria has decreased by 128/183 (69.9%). Currently, the entire district has no poor households according to the national criteria for the 2021-2025 period; the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, and to build and repair houses for 24 households has been completed ahead of schedule... During the year, due to damage from Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi), the district issued a Decision approving support for 2,478 hectares of damaged production forest land belonging to 914 households; and 82 households engaged in cultivation with an area of 24 hectares. Four livestock farming households, with a total of 1,180 animals, have received a total approved support budget of 12.25 billion VND as of November 12, 2024, reaching 45%.

The tourism sector continues to recover positively, with a significant increase in the number of visitors from both within and outside the district to tourist destinations. This year, the total number of tourists in the district reached 148,000 (a 22.11% increase compared to 2023).

Particularly this year, Tien Yen district celebrated the 70th anniversary of its liberation with widespread activities and practical projects implemented from the district level to residential areas, such as: Organizing the production and publication of a collection of literary and artistic works from Tien Yen district; organizing an exhibition of paintings and photographs about the land and people of Tien Yen over 70 years of construction and development; organizing a competition to learn about "Tien Yen: 70 Years of Construction and Development"; organizing a youth camp, an OCOP fair, a folk dance festival, and unveiling a plaque for the Dong Ngu Tien Yen Primary School.

Seize new opportunities for development.

Identifying infrastructure as a crucial foundation for development, the district will continue to mobilize all resources, diversify and effectively utilize investment resources, especially non-budgetary resources, to complete a comprehensive socio-economic infrastructure. It will also expedite the completion of projects and works that commenced in 2023, as well as new projects in 2024, especially key projects such as the road connecting National Highway 4B to National Highway 18...

In addition, the district focuses on administrative reform, significantly improving the investment and business environment, and enhancing the district's competitiveness. It continues to prioritize and implement comprehensive measures from the district level to the grassroots, providing convenient support for the needs of organizations and individuals and attracting investors to the locality. To date, the total number of operating businesses in the district is 273 (an increase of 13.3% compared to the same period last year). The number of newly established businesses as of October 31, 2024 is 24 (an increase of 11.5% compared to the same period last year).

With the outstanding achievements made in 2024, and facing new opportunities for development, to realize the aspiration of building a prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Tien Yen with the characteristics of "Beautiful nature - Unique culture - Civilized society - Transparent administration - Developed economy - Happy people," and basically meeting the criteria of a type III urban area by 2025, in the coming time, the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Tien Yen district will continue to strengthen the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system. The district will continue to innovate its growth model, effectively utilize all potential and advantages, seize opportunities, and make good use of resources to support economic development, focusing on the strategic plans approved by the province, concentrating on directing the completion of 3 1/2,000 scale zoning plans in Dong Ngu, Dong Hai, and Tien Lang communes; 7 detailed plans, and 5 general construction plans at the commune level. Based on that, we are ready to welcome investors to Tien Yen with the most favorable conditions in the coming years.
