Standing alongside the people
To help ethnic minority communities overcome difficulties in production, the province has implemented policies to support investment in production development over the years, creating conditions to increase income and stabilize livelihoods. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Chi, Director of the Mountainous Area Service Center of Lam Dong province, through support for plant varieties, agricultural supplies, and product consumption linkages, the policy has proven effective in many localities, helping people reduce capital pressure, feel secure in production, and gradually increase their income.
The results of the implementation period from 2021 to 2025 show that the policy has had a widespread impact. Throughout the province, support was provided to over 3,800 households cultivating approximately 7,800 hectares of hybrid corn and nearly 970 households cultivating over 730 hectares of wet rice. The total expenditure reached over 63 billion VND. Units supplied hundreds of tons of plant seeds and thousands of tons of agricultural materials for production. Specifically for hybrid corn, over 25,500 tons of product were purchased with a value exceeding 124 billion VND; after deducting advance payments, farmers received nearly 61 billion VND. This support has helped many households reinvest, expand production, stabilize their lives, and gradually shift from small-scale production to market-oriented commodity production.

As one of the households participating in the production support program, Mr. Mang Van Duong, from Hamlet 1, Ham Can, Ham Thanh Commune, said: “Previously, each production season, my family had to raise our own capital to buy seeds and supplies, which was quite stressful. Since receiving advance support for supplies and having a unit to purchase our products, my family feels more secure in production, productivity is stable, and income has improved. We hope this policy will continue to be maintained so that people have more opportunities to develop their economy .”
Besides bringing economic benefits, the policy also actively contributes to sustainable poverty reduction, rural development, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas. Many households have gradually risen out of poverty, and their material and spiritual lives have improved significantly.
Continue to expand opportunities for production development.
However, during the implementation process, some limitations were also noted. The scale of support in some localities did not fully meet the actual needs; the list of crops was limited; and the linkages between production and consumption of products were not truly sustainable. The goal is to continue creating conditions for people to easily access inputs for production. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the linkages between agricultural product consumption, improve the efficiency of agricultural land use, and improve people's income.

Surveys show that people are very interested in the production support policy. To date, 1,067 households have registered to participate with a total area of 5,916 hectares, including 860 households producing hybrid corn on 2,338 hectares and 207 households producing wet rice on 3,577 hectares. This is a positive sign, showing that the policy is suitable to the reality and meets the needs of ethnic minority communities.
Based on the achievements made, the province is developing policies to support investment in production development for ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the new phase.

With the achievements made and the attention of all levels and sectors, policies supporting investment in production development are continuing to be an important driving force helping ethnic minority communities to maximize their potential and strengths in agricultural production. This is also the foundation for building sustainable livelihoods, improving the quality of life, and creating momentum for development in ethnic minority areas in the coming years.
