Durian seedling prices increase sharply

At many seedling suppliers in Hau Giang province, the price of Ri6 and Monthong durian trees ranges from 120,000 to 200,000 VND/tree depending on the variety and leaves, an increase of 20,000 to 30,000 VND/tree compared to the dry season.

According to statistics, the current durian growing area of ​​Hau Giang province is more than 2,500 hectares, an increase of nearly 700 hectares compared to the same period last year, with two popular durian varieties being Ri6 and Monthong. Of which, the durian harvesting area is about 1,000 hectares, with an average yield of 14-16 tons of fruit/hectare.

The area of ​​durian cultivation in Hau Giang province has increased sharply because durian prices have been high recently, especially in February and March, when durians were priced at 110,000-130,000 VND/kg, helping many gardeners in the province earn an income of 1-2 billion VND/ha or more.

Dry coconut prices increase, growers are excited

The price of dried coconut in Tien Giang province in the first months of the year has increased again, helping coconut growers earn high profits and be excited to invest in and take care of their coconut gardens.

In the largest coconut growing area of ​​Tien Giang province, Cho Gao district, traders come to buy dry coconuts at the price of 60,000 - 85,000 VND/dozen (12 fruits), double (40,000 VND/dozen) compared to a few months ago. A farmer in Binh Ninh commune, Cho Gao district has just harvested 0.8 hectares of coconuts with 1,400 fruits, sold for 85,000 VND/dozen, earning a profit of more than 8 million VND.

Cho Gao district currently has over 8,124 hectares of coconut, an increase of 5.57% over the same period in 2023, of which the area of ​​coconut trees bearing fruit is 7,035 hectares, with an estimated harvest output in the first 6 months of 2024 of 45,025 tons.

According to coconut growers in Tien Giang province, coconut trees do not require care and investment costs (fertilizers, pesticides) like other crops, so with an average selling price of 50,000 VND/dozen or more, growers have a relatively stable profit.

According to statistics, the total coconut area of ​​Tien Giang province currently reaches 21,654 hectares, with a fruit-bearing area of ​​18,116 hectares, a yield of 13.5 tons/hectare, and an output of 244,115 tons/year. From 2015 to now, the coconut area has increased by 5,749 hectares, with an average growth rate of 4.5%/year. According to statistics, when coconut trees enter the stable harvest stage, coconut growers earn an average profit of about 91.2 million VND/hectare/year.

The price of red-fleshed dragon fruit is 10,000 - 12,000 VND/kg higher than last month.

Currently, although it is the favorable season, dragon fruit in Tien Giang province is still priced high, and gardeners have quite a profit.

At this time, the price of red-fleshed dragon fruit is around 20,000 VND/kg, especially type 1 which is over 25,000 VND/kg, 10,000 - 12,000 VND/kg higher than last month. In the favorable season, dragon fruit gardens are allowed to bloom naturally without having to be "treated" with electricity like in the dry season; at the same time, there is no need to spend money on watering, so each kg of dragon fruit the gardener earns a profit of more than 10,000 VND.

The whole Tien Giang province currently has more than 9,000 hectares of land for growing dragon fruit; of which the area of ​​​​harvested gardens is about 7,500 hectares, the yield is nearly 35 tons/ha, the output is over 260,000 tons/year. The main dragon fruit production areas are concentrated in 4 districts: Cho Gao, Go Cong Tay, Tan Phuoc and Go Cong Dong. Dragon fruit is one of the fruit trees with the highest economic value among 11 main specialty fruit trees of Tien Giang, with a profit of more than 300 million VND/ha/year.

Currently, gardeners in Tien Giang province are actively taking care of the dragon fruit garden in the favorable season, which is flowering and fruiting, and will be harvested next month, and then switch to off-season production.

Gasoline prices reversed and increased slightly

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have just adjusted the retail price of gasoline and oil in the adjustment period today (September 19). The effective time is from 3:00 p.m. on September 19, 2024.

Specifically, the price of E5RON92 gasoline increased by 51 VND/liter, at a level not higher than 18,941 VND/liter, 821 VND/liter lower than RON95-III gasoline;

RON95-III gasoline price increased by 127 VND/liter, at a level not higher than 19,762 VND/liter;

The price of 0.05S diesel oil decreased by 122 VND/liter, at a level not higher than 18,776 VND/liter;

Kerosene price decreased by 239 VND/liter, at a level not higher than 17,551 VND/liter;

The price of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil increased by VND359/kg, at a level not higher than VND14,826/kg.

In this operating period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and fuel oil.

According to the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade, the world oil market in this operating period (from September 12, 2024 - September 18, 2024) is affected by factors such as: The US Federal Reserve's decision to cut interest rates, storms in the US Gulf of Mexico, China's oil demand remains weak, the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues, etc. The above factors have caused world oil prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on each product.

The average price of finished petroleum products in the world between the price adjustment period of September 12, 2024 and the adjustment period of September 19, 2024 is: 77.018 USD/barrel of RON92 gasoline used to blend E5RON92 gasoline (up 0.508 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.66%); 81.504 USD/barrel of RON95 gasoline (up 0.910 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 1.13%); 82.988 USD/barrel of kerosene (down 1.208 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.43%); 81.734 USD/barrel of 0.05S diesel oil (down 0.516 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.63%); 426,888 USD/ton of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil (up 14,204 USD/ton, equivalent to an increase of 3.44%).
