On October 4th, in Hai Phong, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Hai Phong City People's Committee, directed; the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions, in collaboration with the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized the opening ceremony and awards presentation for the 2025 National Children's Painting Competition and Exhibition.

Held every two years, this is the national children's art festival, affirming the role of art in aesthetic education and nurturing young talents. This year's competition is open to children aged 5 to 15, with works created between 2023 and 2025, providing an opportunity for them to express their passion and artistic abilities.

The competition ignites a passion for painting, encourages creative thinking, fosters artistic appreciation, and contributes to character education, self-confidence, and proactiveness in children. More than just an artistic playground, the event also serves as an environment for exchange, learning, and promoting the art movement both inside and outside of schools.

After more than three months since its launch, the organizing committee received nearly 30,000 entries from children in 32 provinces and cities. The art council selected 359 works by 332 authors for exhibition. Among these, 39 outstanding works were awarded prizes, including 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 10 third prizes, 20 consolation prizes, and 5 group prizes.
The exhibited works vividly express love for family, homeland, nature, and the innocent dreams of childhood, while also reflecting the children's social awareness of issues such as environmental protection and preventing school violence, showing the younger generation's concern for the challenges of modern life. This result demonstrates the strong development of children's art and affirms the concern of the Party, the State, all levels and sectors, and the entire society in caring for and nurturing artistic talent in the younger generation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong congratulated the winning children, as well as all the children who submitted entries this year. Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong affirmed that these are talented and promising young artists. The achievement is a well-deserved reward for their efforts and creative endeavors, and also serves as motivation for them to continue pursuing their passion for art, cultivating beautiful souls and characters.
The exhibition is taking place at the Center for Culture, Cinema and Exhibition (No. 1 Nguyen Duc Canh Street, Le Chan Ward, Hai Phong) until October 13th. The works are also being presented online on the website ape.gov.vn for the public nationwide to enjoy.
