At the event, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Thuong, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, said that the "Startup and Innovation" contest is not only a useful academic playground but also a place where creative ideas are nurtured, startup projects are shaped and the spirit of innovation is strongly spread in the student community.
Especially in fields that have a profound impact on urban life and social culture such as architecture, planning, construction, applied arts, law, culture and other social sciences .
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Thuong, students should boldly share ideas, dare to think, dare to do and be ready to step out of their comfort zone.
“Every idea, no matter how small, can create big changes if nurtured properly and developed in a positive supportive environment,” Associate Professor, Dr. Le Van Thuong emphasized.
The contestants are students studying at universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City and compete in project teams.
Each group has a maximum of 5 members, who can come from 1 or moreeducational institutions and have instructors who are lecturers from universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City.
Also at the program, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Viet Dung, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, said that the fields of projects participating in the competition aim to solve community and social problems, in the context of sustainable development goals being an inevitable requirement of socio-economic development.
Fields include: law; education, culture; architecture, construction, planning, design, fine arts; cultural industry; services; application of digital technology, information technology...
The competition consists of 3 rounds: Project selection is held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture (from June 15-30, 2025); Semi-final round is held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture (from July 10-August 20, 2025); Final round is held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law (from August 21-October 31, 2025).
The first prize of the contest is worth 100,000,000 VND; two second prizes are each worth 80,000,000 VND, two third prizes are each worth 75,000,000 VND and many other prizes of the contest.
In addition, the teams entering the final round will be supported by the Organizing Committee to connect with experts to develop innovative startup projects.
